Well if the name doesnt say it all, after the thrashing thrasher gave me when i was tellin him i was gonna take his spot, and then he polietly shot me down when he pulled down over 5k points in one day vs my 150, i decieded drastic measures were in action...

So when my Bio lecture professor mentioned protein folding as the cause of many diseases a spark of genius hit me. Shes a College professor, i'm a student if i can talk her into folding then talk her into going to the dean to take the unused computer lab comps and hook em up with F@H haha i will set them up under my name and bam over take thrasher in about 3 weeks.... an entire University F@H under the Disturbed_Pyro i know scary isn't it?

Anyways i figure 50 computer labs equipped with 30 computers each should give me about 1500 active CPUs.... all folding thier hearts out... yeah top that thrasher... oh yeah did i mention for the most part probably 1/2 to 3/4s of the machines go idle all day.... or get used for simple web surfing or word documents so near idle usage.....

Keep in mind that each pc folding 24/7/365 will add $20-$50 more a year in electricity. But I'm pretty sure that a ISU has the money for it. Also,with that, the Dean will have to talk to the IT Department because they don't want anything to compromise the internal network. But, it never hurts to ask, the least they can say is no right?

Well thats the thing all the labs are open for buisness nearly 18hrs a day anyways year round, So it won't be adding much cost to the school running the comps at full load vs idle. Thats the trick it won't add any real cost and it won't compromise the system, i mean folding @ home is a safe thing to have on my computer right? I mean if its secretly ploting to kill me i kinda want it off my computer....

Sweet deal! Hope it works out. There is no way I could pull this off at my college. Half of the computers are lucky to turn on sometimes, and if they do turn on, half of the programs have missing licenses or files. Then the "administrator" comes down and "fixes" them.

Handed off the FAQ from Stanford and Press release and alos an independant news story about putting on teh 360 to my professor. Shes going to the Tech Guys at my College to see if they will look it over and make a decision on whether or not to do it. Shes intrested in it along with the chem professor i've been talkin to about my Coolant tests. So i'm waiting on results.... BTW i lost my second F@H badge, i PMed rob about it and it onlyt ook him about 6 hrs to fix...
