| I just wanted to put this up so you all will have the entire list of configuration options available on the Console version (ver 5.04) of the F@H program. This will help you find out what options you can tweak with the -config switch when running the F@H console for the first time.

| If you are running it under the service, you have to go into your contol panel, into the administrative tools, services and stop the service first. If you are running it just in a cmd window that you either minimize or hide using TrayIt or one of the similar tools, you just press ctrl-c to close out the current run. Once that's done, you go into your command line (dos) and go to the folder where the console is living and execute it with the -flag you want. Note: This will only work if you are using the non-graphical (Not the Screen saver) version. Hope this helps. | ||

One question about this part and I think I've got it. If I hit ctrl-c to close out the current run, does that destroy my progress for the WU I'm working on, or does it just save but leave the command prompt open? | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

| It'll lose any progress from the last autosave, but since the default is to save at 15 minute intervals, you'll only lose, at the most, 14 minutes and 59 seconds of work. Now, as far as whether it will leave the command window open or not depends on what method you are using to run it. If you have a shortcut in your startmenu, it will close the window, but if you manually opened the command window to start the run, it'll keep the window open. D | ||

| Yeah, I don't have the program in my startmenu. I just double-click the gear, and it opens the command prompt and runs. Hmmm... if I ctrl-c right after it finishes a frame (and says "Writing Local Files") then I shouldn't lose hardly any work, yes? My current WU ends in about an hour and a half. Probably wait til the new one loads and gets a frame done, then try it. Thanks a ton for the info drougnor! | ||

| When I have wanted to change options in the past, I would simply close the program, delete the config file, and then reopen F@H. It should start you out at the begining of the config. You can also open the config file in notepad, but I wouldnt recommend doing it that way unless you know what you are doing (for instance I changed the amount of memory was installed, and altered the config rather than going through the whole process again). FOLD ON! | ||

| Hey drougnor! Just wanted to let ya know I did it today. It's so hot in this house, that running at 100% was bringing my cpu temp up to 59! I waited til it just finished a frame, and then hit ctrl-c. It closed teh command prompt, so I had to open on manually and find and run F@H. used the -config and it worked like a charm. Kept everything like it was, but changed the cpu usage to 80%. Worked like a charm, and picked up where i'd left off. thanks for the tutorial! still getting decent progress now, but lowered my temps down to about 53C. I can live with that. ![]() | ||
