Okay, two main questions I had right now.

1) I just finished my first WU, and I have 241 pts contributed to my stats and the teams (go Pimprig!). My question is, now if I put the link from the first post on Glitterkill's sticky, will the actual image show up with stats, instead of just some screwed up links? I copied and pasted the link and it came out all wrong (I'm assuming because it's html, but again, I am completely in the dark when it comes to html, php, or any other language besides English really.

2) The program has already downloaded another WU, and started running it. My question is, can I just close the program, and it will pick up where it left off? I was afraid to during the first one, and wanted to hurry and get some stats so I let it run for 2 days straight, but now I'd like to maybe give my poor processor a little rest before running another 2-3 days at 100%. Will it continue when i load the program again, or will i have to start all over at frame 1?

1: did you copy it right and put as an image?
2: Yes you can close the program and it will pick up from where it left off.

Unless your overheating your cpu ,theres no need to "give It a break"
If your worried about the cpu load, just turn it down to a lower cpu utilization %

Well, thanks to Thrasher with the php command, I got the image in there, but it's not showing my stats. I saw where you said "I see a problem" but I don't understand what that problem is. I did finish a WU this morning. I thought that was all that was needed for the stats to show up!

As for closing it, thanks theups. Shut it down for a little bit, but I started right back up. Running smoother. Another 2 days and I'll have us another 241 pts since they sent me the same exact WU. lol

BTW, my name for folding is TattooLost. Is the conflict because my name on here is "Tattoo"? I didn't know if they had to match, and I went with TattooLost because I wasn't sure if I could sign up with a name that someone else might share, so I went with one I use that I know no one else uses. If that's the problem, can I change my name for folding, or on here and correct the problem?

you can change your folding name, but will start over with 0 points.
if your going to change it, now is the time before you get alot of points built up.

Regardless,your stats will take a while to update on your folding sig,sometimes a couple of days even.

Crap. I don't wanna lose the points. But if that's the problem then I really don't have much choice if I want them to show up in my sig, eh? I'm assuming changing my name on here isn't an option to fix it... hmmm...

I've got another day and a half for this one to finish. I'll see if the stats show up in the next 24 hours or so. If they don't, I'll change it before this one finishes and then I should be back to 241 hopefully.

woohoo! My stats are finally showing up. Thanks a ton guys for all the help.

I'll have 842 pts tomorrow, and I just got the cash together to build my new comp, so once I get the last of the parts built and get it put together, I'll have 2 rigs to fold with (and possibly my g/f's laptop tho she doesn't get online with it much). More pts!

Just testing my sig here. doesn't seem to be updating now. I finished my 3rd WU last night but all my posts it's still showing 1. Let's see what this one shows.

Yeah. When I posted that they were all still showing 1. I came back and made a post asking about hardware advice and then it showed 3, so I came back here to check it and they had all updated. I didn't know if it just wasn't being dynamic for me, or was just delayed longer than I had expected in updating. Obviously it was the latter, and I need to learn some more patience. lol

Sorry guys. Just a bit excited about folding and helping out. It's fun and a nice sense of accomplishment when I finish a WU.

One more quick question for you guys. I'm fixing to order a new copy of windows for the rig i'm building.

does anyone know if folding would go faster using WinXP x64 versus standard WinXP Home?

No it,s never made much difference for me ,folding is 32bit.

Also beware WinXP x64, its buggy,drivers are hard to get ,and many games wont run.
you'll be searching the Beta drivers for solutions.
I bought it last month and its allready uninstalled from my newest rig,went back to XP pro.

If your not gaming it might be fine,but I wouldnt risk it

For me it has. My dads comp is running XP32 bit, and his folds like crazy. His is a socket 754 Sempy (x64) Its faster than my athlon at folding..thats for sure. I think it took like an hour or so to get half way done on a 400 WU Core.

I think he ment "WINDOWS 64"vs win32 operating system,not amd 64 Vs amd athlon32 cpu's

Okay, thanks guys. Yeah, i hear complaints about WinXP x64 once in awhile, but never really paid much attention to them as I had no plans to get it. I was looking through OS's on Newegg and saw the x64 edition and the first thought I had was improved folding. But yes, I'd much rather be able to game and such bug free. I'm putting an Opty dual core in the new rig (arrives wednesday if all goes well), so I'm planning on keeping this rig folding and the other folding on at least one core. I was thinking about getting MCE and a tuner card, but I think it's just too soon for me. I need to do a lot more research into it instead of jumping head first. It's not like it'd be tough to add one in later anyway. I think I'm just going to order WinXP home. I don't do any networking and such, so I don't think I really need any of the extra junk that comes with Pro. If everything goes according to plan, I should have my new rig up and running in the next 2 weeks or so, and then the real folding begins! In other good news, I just finished my 4th WU. Next one will break the 1000 pt mark!
