I hear ya on this one. We have a lot of inactive members listed on the stats, and probably just as many members who have never folded.

We are still relatively close to Vietnam, and Russia is closing in fast. We need a huge rally to catch up and get ahead.

Maybe we should have a contest or random drawings for active folding members only.
That might bring in more team members.

Also if we could only get more team members to "actually fold" we would be fine.
when you look at the team stats its pretty grim,less then 1 in 6 are folding.

We do a lot of talking/recruiting here on the TeamPimprig forum, but not many people visit this part of the site unless they are already actively folding. Perhaps we need to get more proactive about recruiting on the Anything Goes board? Perhaps start a recruitment thread or something? Try to make the Team more visable without spamming the boards.

Unfortunately, I had to uninstall F@H on all of the work computers as they are all running SQL Server (at the least the MSDE version). Between the SQL memory usage and the CPU utilization of F@H, the comps were running really slow. So I am back down to 1-2 rigs currently... but more to come later.

I just added 2.1 GHz to my F@Holding militia, although I've had to take down a 1.3 GHz soldier until I figure out Linux enough to start Folding on it. If anybody wants to help me with this, I'll have this bad boy up and running again by the end of the week, putting my total back up to 8.4 GHz....

My mind keeps coming back to this post..RBIEZE any ideas on the random drawings or contest.

Ive thought it through ,and there is no way to be 100% sure of someone who claims to be folding on a team/army for PcApex
The reason being ,that people who fold on armys and teams do so anonomously Under an assumed team name.
My main thoughts were,how could we confirm anonomous individuals that fold on 596 ?

Maybe an active folding screen shot ,included in contest entry?
So I figured maybe this would work.

conditions for entry=
all entry's must include a screenshot of an active folding unit,
windows or console version, showing at least ten(maybe less?) fineshed WU's.

But then I was told theres no way to make it fair.
And after some thought I agree
Someone from another team/forum could change their team number to 596, take a screenshot and change it back

I guess people might cheat ,and we'd have like 4000 entries.

So to combat this, we'd have to require entrents to be PcApex members for a certain minimum time and posts.
That way "anyone" who's folding for team 596 and a PcApex member could enter.
That would eliminate 99% of the potential cheaters.

But that wont work either, because many people this contest targets will be excluded
especially the newest members
So maybe someone smarter than me could figure this out,cause I'm stumped.

Anyone with ideas feel free to PM me or post.

You could look up the F@H stats for that person, and see if in fact they are folding for team 596 or see what other teams they folded for.

Why not have a 500 Post Min, and that you have been here atleast 6 months from 1st post (NOT from join date), and are an Active Member in the forums (meaning you contribute daily, NOT weekly or monthly like other members) . That may work, but as you know, we do have some snakes in the grass..

We need a way to have old and new members to all be able to be in it. As you have stated so we can get everyone folding.

I'm not sure about 500 posts. That would count me out and I'm the F'Hoe'lding Pres'Hoe'dent lol. We need something that will make new members want to start folding. I guess a good place to start is what made each of us want to start folding. It was 2 things for me. One, it gave me a chance to feel like a member even if I only post a few times a week. The second reason was I have lost loved ones to cancer so any thing I can do to help find a cure I'm willing.

So lets see what got all of us folding and from that we can start to get a good idea of how to get new members (and old) to be folders.

Well I was thinking of something that would get new members in....

Anyway one remeber my Free Sale? Where I gave stuff away for free to people? Well I was thinking of doing it again..but this time there are restructions and rules.. (most likely, they will be resistors again, and transistors, those are the only things I have alot of )

* The must stay here for atleast 6 months
* Must F@H for Team 596 for atleast 6 months
*Must be an Active Member in the forums for 6 months from First post date
* Must Follow Rules and Regulations of the forums
* At the end of the 6 month period you get your free stuff
* People from last time may not participate (I have their address's)

I know Im probably missing a rule or 2, and its not totaly fool proof
