I have a mean way now.. I deploy machines every day here,, and fix them sometimes too. I know who knows pcs and who doesnt.. I put folding on every machine i get my hands on,, Make it run as a service in the backgroun on lowest priority,, max 30% cpu.

Thats how i got the 3 today. So lol over a months time,, we are looking at a LOT of machines

yup, was nice and easy too. Granted,, The program is the lowest possible priority, and i have it set so that the program can only use 30% cpu when it does..

Iv been talking to one of our other sysadmins here, he works with the ibm mainframes and pseriers servers. We have one that is waiting for a project,, wont even be used for 6 months. its just sitting there, idling,, waiting for battle..... with 48 processors and 384gigs of memory. Gunna see if he can maybe work some magic on it

how do you see how many points your wu gives?

there are a couple ways,
#1 - there are some programs out that can track your work and points
#2- you can look up the WU number I.E. p2082 on the folding@home site

Some clarification:

A Work Unit (WU) is made up of a certain number of frames or steps. Certain WU's have equal numbers of frames/steps, but their respective credit values are different.

You can check and see the value for whatever WU(s) your machine(s) is/are working on by logging on to the Current Projects page at Stanford.

On the other hand, there are several nifty little programs out there for download (freeware, too!) that can monitor the WU(s) being crunched, and give you not only the credit value for a particular WU, it can also give you an estimated time until completion.

There, all that said, you did make sure to type "GrandpaNoob72" as the username when you started the dual instances, right?
