Hell, I've been relagated back to 4th as far as daily production goes. Of course, Podium is number one, but Jerry Atrik and Krostillian found some new processing power and are kicking major ass!

I cant convince people to do it....I keep trying but nobody seems interested. One lady actually said - "they dont pay you"......shakes head and walks off. Her repair bill will be bigger next time, I will use her theory of importance of money when I calculate the bill.

ok, a F@H noobie question

how do i change the id on each machine, that it won't show id 1 on each one of them?!

If the folding program is on different machines, it doesn't matter if they are the same number but if you really want to change it, just edit the client.cfg file and change where it says machineid. Don't forget only numbers 1,2,3 and 4 can be used.

I just added another 1ghz machine to do nothing but fold and I'm running away from everyone in the 70's. Good luck in catchin me floatintrem.

damn you, my processing power has been down awhile, my duron is stuck on a big one, i just hope it finisehs it before its void, othrwise i have around... 15? ghz of power under the hood, what you got?

edit, i just got around 4ghz more

Oh, well maybe you will be catching me. I have 3.8 ghz between my 2 machines. They run 24/7 but I don't think that will keep me out front for too long. It will be a good race to #25 though, see you there.

Does Folding@home need an internet connection? Because the comp I want to install it on doesnt have one.

Yes, it does, of course it only needs them at the start and end of a WU(Work Unit) So if every time it nears the end of the WU just connect it to the net for a little while and when it starts its next one you can unplug it again.

Is there another comp nearby you could network it to, and share the net connection? I'm sure for the little bandwidth folding needs, a shared connection would work nicely.

Congrats Podium, and all the others who've helped to get PR to where it is in the tables, it's all for charity, but you all give so willingly, I'm not the first to say it, and I won't be the last either, Thanks a whole bunch!

Yeah there was a time that I thought the same thing. now I'm stuck at about 57th. The major thing in your way is that everybody else is folding too, and they'll be folding faster as you go higher. Nobody in that top 25 is standing remotely still. Unless you're podium, the speed at which you'll rise will probably look logarithmic (I checked the TI-83 for that one)

Not cutting you down, until telling you how things work up here. Judging from your machines, it looks like you'll end up in about the same spot as me.
