| finally got my home rig folding now that I have broadband here. I was never really home enough to have my computer on much before but now.... a different story. Put me down for 3 rigs now: 1 760MHz Intel, 1 dual 800Mhz Intel server, and my Athlon 600Mhz rig. Schwiiiiing!!! | ||

| I am eyeballing a new PC - I have broadband and 2 PCs at the moment. Intel 2.4 GHz desktop that stays on folding 24/7 (started about 3 days ago) and a Intel 2.0 GHz mobile laptop (cant fold, isnt on enough). I would like to add a third PC. Need just enough to get email, browse the web and fold. What is everyones opinion on the slowest proc that is worthwhile to fold on. The other things I want to do arent to intensive and Im looking at picking up a AMD 550 MHz or similar and basically using it as a NET appliance but I would like to fold with it...... | ||

| Etiquette & English Gentleman | I just finished my 1st WU -only took 8 days too - ph34r the power of my 800 Duron! My score of 71 puts me firmly into 180th place ! The only way is up - next WU will be finished in about 10 days - I'll soon catch up with podium at this rate ![]() | |

Personally Aaron I am a firm believer that any folding is worth while. however I will say it really all depends on the machine its self - I have a few P1's folding in the computer lab I work in and it normally takes them about a 2 weeks to do 1 WU. And I would like to say THX for F@H to godfoot, Aaronrkelly, and Jonny English!

| well, my 2.53 p4 is going to fold its 4th WU today. but my 633mhz pc WU must have expired cause it started over and my 333mhz is only at 133/400 since 9 days ago. so yea, some pc's do take longer . slick2145 nailed it. and sure its cool to see your rank go up, but every cpu cycle helps in the grand scheme of things. ![]() | ||

I have been folding for a while actually, just not on my home computer, but thanks though. On a happy note, I just moved up several spots to one of my favorite numbers.......69!

Great idea - I go home next weekend to visit for a couple of days - I'll have to make sure that it mysteriously appears on all of the machines there!! ![]()

Ahh, but I already unwittingly cleared that path when I set up most of their systems.... They all leave their machines on because I scheduled all the usual maintanence to run late... you know, defragging, virus scanning, etc. Unfortunately most of them would require some upgrading to finish a WU before it expires... ![]() EDIT: hate them typos Last edited by CRE; 23-November-03 at 03:39 AM..
