Dont bother with the pentium D's anymore ,they work but theres better options ..
The new sweetness is the E4300 $112 w 2 MB cache,or the even newer 2160 1MB cache which retails for about $90.

If your running SMP units Cache/architecture is king
Much faster frame rates ,and less power consumption.

Thayre good for about 1000+ PPD

Pentium D's are around 700-800 PPD

PPD=points per day.

I'm saying the cheap core2 cpu's are able to earn 800-1000+ points per day with SMP folding.

Currently I'm only running one system with smp folding an opteron 170.
I tried running them on my intel system, but it gets used so much for gaming that I couldnt make the 4 day deadline for the work units.

Thesw wu's are 1500 -1760 point and finish in under 2 days!(as long as I can keep the kids off the Pc's)

You gotta make a login to windows first. So go to users in control panel and give your account a password. Then rerun that command and type your windows user name and password. Make sure you set the advance method flag so you can get the complex qmd or whatever those wu's are called. PM me if you have a prob dooooode!

hmmmmmmmm... You entered the name that you click on to start windows and it still didnt work¿ I had that same problem last night. When I gave my logon to windows a password, that problem went away. Have you looked through the folding forums? Maybe someone else has had that same problem. It also requires the .net frame work 2 version. Do you have the 2nd version? I just looked and I have 3 .net frameworks, 1.1, 2, and 3. If you dont have version 2 maybe it needs that. I have no clue. But I will look and see what I can come up with.

I'm seeing on the screen dump that t2dual-core appears both in caps and not... First it's connecting to T2DUAL-CORE and after asking for win logon password, it rejects to connect to t2dual-core...
I would think this thing is case sensitive, you got it entered they same way in win logon and SMP?

I tried something different
Using T2DUALCORE\T2 DUAL-CORE and then using the password
I got this

Ok! Now you need to click on the fah.exe and input your normal folding info's. I get like 1760 point wu's with the smp client.

Nope you only need to run one version of smp to fully load your machine.

Edit: BTW, if you want it to run as a service there is a trick to it. You set it as a service from the folding -config string. Then you need to go to services.msc

select the smp folding service. Select "properties" then the "Log on" tab, you need to set the logon password and username the same that you managed to get folding to run in the first place. Restart the computer and now folding in smp will start when you turn the computer on.

............I am not messing with anything for a while (I just got it working)
I will be setting up my other three dual cores PC's with this SMP program.

What is the best program to track the progress of the SMP F@Holding?
