Double post, I know. Steal my mouse and keyboard if you must.

Our team 24 hour average is down to 26k. What happened? I remember a while back when we were over 40k a day. Did we lose that many people/computers?

I've seen a few new members sign up lately that seem to be active here on the forums. *hint hint* and I know T2 (or someone else for that matter) dropped the seed for F@H to them.

What I'm getting at is that we need to try to get back to where we were. Remember when we were #38 as a team? Anyone? *crickets chirping*

I think it probably has something to do with people getting larger work units. These days most of the ones I get are taking 2-4 days to complete depending on which system is folding them. That and some hardware issues have greatly impeeded my journey to the 300K mark.

The larger W/U definately played a role in the breakdown of F@H daily point for our team. Personally i can't keep my rigs in the folding zone, for the constant rip, tweak, and benchmark methods. I seem to pull the BH-5 out of my X2 and bench the heck out of my other machines. so its down alot, and im adding a new 1000MHz Celeron/P3 soon, as well as my nice new 2.5GHz socket 370 CPU (no real name, its a celeron and its socket 370 over 1.4GHz, crazy huh.)Those are the new boys, i also got a old school P1/K5 to start benching too, gonna be setting up my old P2/P3-K5/K6, and set them up as a cluster to get more W/U crunching away daily. My dual sempron 754's will be on daily driving soon, gott break down the air box, setup the duron 1200, and get three motherboards (two 478's, and a Socket A)

Another thing to add, i have myself a P4 2.53GHz, and 2.8GHz, might selling them, might bench them and then borg them, need more room and hardware, lol.

Bring back the F@H team PCApex, we need it more than ever, as we loose each spot.

Well I'm back to folding. I was #40 something on the list but havent folded for 2 years. My rig in my sig(hehe) was getting hot and unstable when I was folding. I updated the memory and now its no problem. I also have a Pentium D 820 @ 2.8Ghz running 24/7 and a Athalon 64 3800+ @ 2.6Ghz running 24/7. Hopefully I will get back up there. Go team Pimprig(and mentyl)!

In other news, i broke the top 100, finally, i was on the way destined fro he end of january, but it took a little while longer, the X2 was on and off due to me benchmarking so it wasn't folding 24/7

I just setup another P3 and my second sempron might fianlly be folding. so i'll be climbing the ranks et yet

Got aclusters SMP setup running my 396MHz P3, 1GHz P3, 866 MHz P3, 900MHz P3, 250MHz P2, and 350MHz P2, all as one, technically.

Alongside my now back up and running sempron 2800 @ 2.7GHz, and thenewest edition the barton 2600M, replaced the 2200 XP but soon both will be running. Et yet corruptjoker, and now aselus are going to surpass me this week, somy efferts are hopeless.

totaling over 15Gz of running systems

2800+ @ 2.7GHZ
2600 XP-M @ 2.2GHz
3100+ @ 2.55GHz

cluster: (running about as fast as one of my semprons)
250MHz P2
350MHz P2
396MHz celeron P3
866 MHz P3
900MHz Celeron P3
1GHz P3

My Schools Pentium D (part time running) dual instances 3.25GHz
My Aunts 3000+sempron (part time)
My friends 4400+ X2 (part time)single instance

110 and Climbing, I will soon have my old spot at 87, then beyond!!!!!!! With just three LITTLE rigs running......... If you have power you don't need 10 rigs folding 24/7.

My two semprons (both at 2.4GHz or higher) F@H pretty nice, i break the top twenty producers randomly...

I have a cluster that i took down today (my hub was rerouting my paps connection to the cluster) so i have a slight drawback in production. But once i get the cluster back up it includes but not limited too:

Athlon XP-M @ 2500MHz
Athlon XP 2200+
Dual 500MHz P3
1GHz P3
900MHz celeron
866MHz P3
366 P2 @ 398MHz
and a 250MHz P2

(was crunching a WU in just uner 14 hrs without the 2200, and the dual 500's)

I've been folding for team lokie for about the past year-ish. I just recently upgraded my rig and pulled out of Lokie's team to get a better idea of how the new machine was doing with FAH (easier for me to keep track of the results if they were going to a single user, not a team account).

Anyhow, i just changed my FAH user id back to lokie. Just wanted to give you folks a heads-up because the droeblek9 username popped back up on the folding stats over the last week, and, as of today, it's going away again

Here are some good tips
2 or more Instances of Folding at home on 1 PC - EXTREME Overclocking Forums
Quote:
2 Instances of Folding at home on 1 PC

This will work for FT or non HT so have at it if you want to

just make 2 folders (I will use program files for mine but anywhere works fine)

folder 1 E:\Program Files\Folding@Home1
folder 2 E:\Program Files\Folding@Home2

now D/L the Console to each folder

Next create a shortcut to each console exe file

so you have F@H1 and F@H2 for the shortcut names

right click and goto properties on each and add -advmethods -forcesse -local -verbosity 9 to each in the target field so they look like so

F@H1 target line = "E:\Program Files\Folding@Home1\FAH4Console.exe" -advmethods -local -forcesse -verbosity 9
F@H2 target line = "E:\Program Files\Folding@Home2\FAH4Console.exe" -advmethods -local -forcesse -verbosity 9

apply and ok out of both now move those shortcuts to the startup folder so folding will start when you bootup

reboot

now you have to answer the questions for each instance of folding

F@H1

F@H2

answer the questions just like I did except you can use idle instead of low for core priority if you want to

and there ya have it two instances of folding on a HT rig or none HT rig. BTW this will work the same for a dualie or quad CPU machine just use Machine ID #'s that are diferent for every instance and you can run up to 8 instances of folding on 1 PC
