| Are you on Broadband or Dialup? It has happend to me if it cannot connect the first time it will try again. The new stats can take up to 6 hours to show up on the Stats site, so be patient Also if you are using dial-up , you want to check the "Ask before useing network tab" so you can connect to the internet, before it sends the finished WU ![]() Last edited by scapegoat; 27-September-02 at 02:55 AM.. | ||

| I'm not talkin' about the stats site, I'm talkin' about the window that shows what project your working on and its progress. It does not show that I have completed any WU's. I use both dial-up and cable(my crappy router is all screwed up )On dial-up, will it ask me before or after I get on-line to connect to the network? Thanks scapegoat ![]() | ||

| If you download and use the Electron Mircoscope Program that i went over a couple pages back, this will give you your total number of points, as well as moniter mulitple computers. And the program will ask you before it sends any stats, so just make sure that computer is connected to the internet, before you hit yes. Last edited by scapegoat; 27-September-02 at 03:07 AM.. | ||

| Ok folks, found another usefull utility for our Folding@Home crew. This one is called Overfoldix . This program is actually a distrobution of Linux, that boots off your CD rom drive, and runs in a Ram Disk, Therfore not requireing a Hard Drive. So theoreticly you could run Folding@home on some of those spare parts you have with as little as a Mobo, some ram, processor, and a network connection, removing the CD-ROM after the OS boots. Ive looked around and ive seen many folding teams useing this method for their dedecated folding boxes. This program is not for the faint of heart though as it may require a little coding. | DOHHH!!! your right Dogg! There i go not paying attention again....This is possible
But most likely it got the new WU and is still waiting to upload the last one, it will retry on its own.( i know im contradicting myself, but ive learned diffrent) Look in your log file, it should look somthing like this + Attempting to send results - Connecting to server (171.64.122.117:8080) + Network send failure - Error: Could not transmit unit 02. Keeping unit in queue. + Attempting to get work packet - Connecting to assignment server - Successful: assigned to (171.64.122.117). + News From Folding@Home: Welcome to Folding@Home - Connecting to server (171.64.122.117) on port 8080 - Error: Getwork #1 failed, and no other work to do. Waiting before retry | |||||||||||||||||||||

| BiGJdogg: Chances are it's not going to start downloading now. You'll need to go into your folding @ home directory and delete a file called queue.dat and then restart f@h. I had the same thing happen and found the fix in these forums. Good luck with your mission. ![]() Last edited by Potato Joe; 27-September-02 at 06:24 AM.. | ||

| If the PC is already downloaded and working on a new project, then dont delete the queue.dat file. Only do this if you need to force a download of a new WU. I have seen waits of up to 12 hours or more to upload a finished WU, their server can be busy at times. You can force-send by stopping FAH first, then running the client with the -send all switch. Although the client will try on its own every couple hours to resend the completed WU. What Potato Joe said is correct, but that is ONLY if your PC is having trouble getting the new WU. | ||

| does your computer keep folding when it puts itself in "sleep" mode? i can't figure out why mine keeps going to sleep, but it does every half hour unless i'm using it. i disabled sleep mode in the screensaver options menu (in Win98 if it matters) but it still does it. if it can fold in it's sleep then no biggie, but i want to keep it running when i'm not around too if it does stop folding. anyone know for sure if it folds or not while "sleeping"? | ||

| Ok time for a new look at the stats. We have some new fellows in the top 10 of our folding@home stats. Potato Joe is still the king of the hill far running far ahead of the pack We have a 3 way race for 2nd place between BigAkita, Tdigweed, and OMFG. And now BA has jump in the lead (for the time being) by only 2 point! Insomniac has Passed up Glitterkill for the claim to 5th place And for the bottom 4 ranks of our Top10 we have a heated battle between Duckwarrior, Stosto, Zer0 and Skew, in that order. Keep it folding guys! we are kicking some ASS!!! | ||
