Well, after getting some security issues worked out, I have finally come onboard for Team PimpRig in the Folding@Home!!!

I was worried at first as I had posted the signature but nothing was showing. Took a few more minutes to realize that I needed at least one WU to have any stats show. I may be developing my own signature to go along with this, so I've added that to the bottom of my "To Do" list (which I should get around to by next March or so).

So, can anyone give me some hints on how to kick up the speed of this thing?

Don't fold until you're sure you've got a stable overclock. Otherwise F@H could have some errors in its calculations, which defeats the purpose

not too sure about upgrading now...some WU's go faster...but I just got slammed with a 1k frame WU .

As far as the overclocking...no, not an option.

Picking up the DVD's tomorrow? Probably not. I work from 8:00 p.m. to 4 a.m. every nite so probably not until Sunday or so. I mean, after all, it's only on DVD and the changes aren't enough to warrant making a special trip just to pick them up. I might even wait until the weekend of the 16th of October.

Thanks for the comment on the signature. I only did it as a reminder to me to get in gear to start in on modding my new case that I've had for two months (hey, I moved three states away, o.k.?). I'm in the pen-and-ink stage now, drawing out how I would like for it to look. I may wait a week or two before picking up a dremel.

Oh, I've just looked at my F@H3 console and all I see is the time, then "Finished a frame", then a number in paras. What does that mean? I've noticed that I've been folding non-stop for about 13 hours and I've only completed one WU. Is that right?

Congrats to you man. I have been in the process of setting up a HUGE F@H server, I'm going to try to shoot for 20GHz but it will be hard, I was thinking about using XP2400's, since they are 2ghz each = 10 machines.

For now I am setting up two Abit BP6 dual Celeron 533 servers @ 550, so that's 2.1 GHz right there. Plus my new master server I have to build, a P4 Socket 423 1.4 ghz.

A lot of things happening with my network I am just trying to get everything back up and in proper working order after the 200-mile trip it took during Frances.

your got a 'finished a frame (25)'.....those are the 400 frame ones. It could be worse, you could have a 1000 frame one....

Welcome to the team.

I won't say I do anything fancy with my setup... I just borg any P4 machine I work on at work, as well as my P4 and a G4 Mac. Then theres my home machine.... Athlon 64's seem to fold quite nicely.
