just wanted to thank the folks at PR for turning me on to stanford's protein folding.
my mom died of cancer a couple of years ago. i was out of town for about a month while taking care of her and, ultimately, her funeral arrangements. when i got back home, i found that i had 3 or 4 letters from different cancer foundations asking me for money (post marked after her date of death). i hope it was just bad timing on the part of those foundations, but it really pissed me off (i'd just buried my mom, and people i'd never heard from before are hitting me up for $$ - uncool). needless to say, i didn't donate. thanks to the folks @ stanford and all of the cool pimps here, i now have a way of helping out, and i feel very good about being a part of it. thanks again.

A buddy of mine down the street has been in close competition folding with me, he's one position behind me in the PR F@H team stats.

Sorry to hear of your loss. Cancer's an asshat, taking lot sof loved ones. F@H is just a little thing that we can do to help fight cancer and many more diseases. Fold on brother!

My dad won't let me put Folding on his 2.0 ghz Dell and he thinks it's a BS program and I shouldn't have to have all my PC's running 24/7 driving up his electric bill

Offer him to pay part of the electric bill. That is what I do for my parents.

BTW I bought a Tualatin PIII 1400 for my Dell folding rig with Intel 820, does anyone here know if an Intel 820 Rambus chipset supports a Tualatin PIII 1.4ghz?

I usually look at the stats to see who is folding. Are you asking for a list of all members on PR?

wow, thanks for all the response. one of the things that i really like about folding is that you can actually see what you're working on (you know how you're helping). in turn, this fosters some very healthy competition: it's a win/win situation.
j-dogg, pull up stanford's folding home page and let your dad check it out. maybe he'll relent.
