CPU: One or 2 old socket A couple of Borgs somewhere around my town. Intel T3200 Dual core laptop cranking both 2 GHz cores with the console client. And one of my secret weapons: Overcooked, folding with a E4300 (Who still needs a blue Folding Icon!). I have other borgs that may or may not be folding some older machines. Lost touch with a few. CPU 1 Q6600 folding smp @2.8ghz. 1 older AMD Opteron 165 with linux smp folding. Just got 2 new mem sticks for my one machine so hopefully I will be adding another Q6600 smp folding into the mix today or tomorrow. That should get me stable at just over 10k points daily. | |

Better to let it crank them out one right after the other than to futz around with it and not get anything done... But, if you have a set of pretty simple instructions, I think I can get a dual-GPU setup going... | |

I have upgraded my video card from a 8800GTS 512MB to a 275GTX, but the high pitch noise that comes from it (I read somewhere that it's from the voltage regulators) is driving me nuts. I would love to fold more, but the noise coming from the PC is driving me crazy so even when I am just browsing I shut down folding. Does anyone know of a way to solve this? One possible solution (from the EVGA forums) was to replace the PSU, which I did (I had another PSU lying around), but that didn't help. Anyone? | |
