GPU Folding is the King right now. If you have a NVIDIA 8800 card or better, get it up and folding for team 596!

Take it I can't fold on a 7900Gt eh? I'm cranking out WUs on my C2D Desktop and my laptop's running as well. I've been planning on upgrading to a 9800 series graphics card. Once I save up the funds, I'll have that folding to. Too bad there isn't a client for the xbox 360.

Folding is for 8000 series and above. Sorry Overcooked, you are going to have to spring for that 9800 sooner than planned if you want to fold. Let me know when you do so I can order one as well.

Pay attention to Fred, as he is the way of the Master folder. Just don't pay attention to those guys at Gruntville because they will steer you wrong.

A 9800 GTX would probably not be the wisest of investments. Check your power consumption verses your price and ppd. If you want a instant gratification and pay now and pay even more later, buy a GTX 280. If you want to buy cheap and build slow but not run yourself into debt, get a 9600 GSO. Or if you just want to go for broke and have cheap electricity, go for a 9800 GX2.

Hey NutRack, been tweaking one of my 8800GT's. 6189PPD is not too bad for an older card. If it stays stable, I might have to crank it up a little more. House was a bit chilly when I got up this morning.

I was even considering a 8800GT closer to my price range, and would be good in a SLI setup when I get the cash. GTX 280 is way out of my budget unfortunately.

Eric, I can get my E4300 over the 3.0Ghz barrier but it doesn't hold stable for more than two hours. I think my memory is holding me back. Still folding away at 2.8Ghz.

Overcooked, keep it stable! Also, the 8800 is a pretty good card, still to this day. And thanks again for Folding first class. Still working on getting you a Folding icon.

Also, while you are spending time pushing them, I am spending time posting mine. I haven't overclocked a bit, but have plenty of power on each system to overclock what needs to be overclocked. They are all stock EVGA or PNY 9800s and they have plenty of room and G92 cores.

Anything you can do, they can do just as well. As for finances, I am tapped out, but that doesn't mean that I am sleeping by any means. My average won't peak until the end of this week. And if you think that means that that's the best Gruntville has to offer, think again because We have plenty more in store.

We fold with what we have. And you do know, if you pass us, it does not make you immune to getting passed.

I spotted a 9800Gt for 99.99 plus tax over at the Egg after a $20 MIR. That might hold me over for a while. I just need to find some junk I can sell to get the 100 bucks to get me a new card!
