| I am sorry, my brain is tired. I am trying to set up my new dual core AMD CPU to fold with both cores. I downloaded the SMP from Stanford, all I seem to get is an error every min or so. Is there an easy way to do this? Sorry for my brain fart, just want it working asap, and like I said, my brain is not working this weekend. E | ||

| 1. Open the folder where you got F@H installed. 2. Copy all the files there and place them in a new folder. 3. In the new folder, open the file client.cfg with wordpad (not notepad) 4. Beside machineid= change the number to "2" 5. Save the file 6. Launch F@H and start folding! | ||

| I have done that and it does not work. I have 2 folders FAH6 and FAH7, and FAH7 keeps on reverting to machine id 1. I have saved it as #2 multiple times. When I reboot, it is shut down. Pretty obvious I am doing something very obvious wrong, I just can't see it. Thanks for the input Joose. E | ||

| Ok, looks like I have 2 of the console clients working. One runs as a service I guess, I do not see it while the other has to be open like a program. If I close the C ocuments and settings\Fred\deskto\FAH6\fah6-winx86-console.exe, core 2 stops folding. Core 1 seems to run as a service. What am I doing wrong? That smiley is not of my making. | I was using an AMD X2 when I was home, and I had one core affinity set to 0 (zero) and the other set to 1 (one)... Worked fine for me... You might give it a try? Way I did it was to start one instance, open Task Manager -> Processes -> F@H(whatever version/core it was), then set it to zero/one, and then find the second entry and set it the same way. Start the second instance and set it to the other affinity... | ||

| Got it figured out finally. Dang I can be stupid sometimes... I am not sure how I jacked it up last night, but I now have them set up as a service, machine id 1 and 2. Having 2 cores at 100% is a nice sight! Will start on some overclocking later on. Time to install and play some CS! Thanks for the tips! E | ||
