| From the master server of my new 7 node cluster for Folding at Home. -Up to two clusters -First cluster 6 nodes, second cluster 7 nodes -Third cluster in the works consisting of 8 P4 machines 6 of which are Socket 775 -Cluster 1 = 5.3ghz -Cluster 2 = +8ghz -Cluster 3 expected to be above 15ghz possibly 20 -13 total nodes as of 4/22/07 -Each node is individual of itself -Runs XP SP2 -Minimalistic design consumes less electricity by not using unnecessary hardware (soundcards, high end gfx cards, etc.) Pics tomorrow, bedtime now. 1000ppd here I come. | ||

| Oh no, it gets better people, today while riding around doing my cable thing I found not one, but TWO high-end systems on the side of the road. An MSI custom build and an e-Machines. the e-Machines came with a 15" LCD flatscreen and it's an xp2600 with 512mb ram. The other is a 2.93ghz Celeron D with 256mb of RAM, and a 3gb HDD /screw flanders About to test them to see if they are good. Should add another 150 - 200ppd. /oh snap | ||

| Well **** I haven't even got the first one finished and already I have jumped up to 32nd. God I can't imagine what will happen when I get these bad boys up and running. So far the Celeron system is updating to Windows XP SP2. I have it clocked to 3.2ghz, as high as the board will let it go. I heard Celly D's were excellent overclockers. Was there any truth to this? EDIT: Also I have gotten the other machine, an XP2600, up and running as well. This is an xp2600 T-bred though, not a Barton. Still an awesome setup. Up to 14 nodes, 2 nodes and 5ghz added in one day, at only the cost of the electricity to run it all. Last edited by j-dogg; 26-April-07 at 12:22 AM.. | ||

| I think it's a 100 frame unit. Using the 5.04 console (no graphical bs) the p3 1ghz next to it is using the same 5.04 client software and folds about a frame an hour, as does the celly 3ghz. the log is on the other cluster I'm posting from cluster 1. ill get the log for you tomorrow. | ||

| As Jobistober said, what app are you using in XP to cluster, and my question is on top of that is why? PK (Parralell Knoppix) runs from a CD, and you can run a master node that will run the OS onto the other boxes and it can F@H great. With PK you will save about 84% of you network usage and It will Fold about 50% faster (less resourses being used, unless you nLited the XP install to a such minimal design that it literally uses only F@H and you shut down explorer) | ||
