Default 50% Linux on the home 'puters.

Well, except for my guest 2.6Gig laptop that is 'stress testing', I am now only running 2 winXP compuers. The rest are Linux.

I am a Linux noob, and how I got them running, I do not know, I used the mouse and installed it. I just made a folder for it in my home folder, and clicked untill it worked. But they fold, so all is good.

Well I'm happy to report that I am officially on the Linux bandwagon as well! Just installed Ubuntu 6.1 on an old desktop rig today, and I'm very pleased with the results. I mainly decided to go Linux just for learning purposes... I'll be taking an Operating Systems class next semester and I decided I'd brush up on some Linux... plus my Telecommunications class is messing with Fedora core, so it's a lot of fun. It'll take some getting used to, but I think it's worth it.

Wireless can be tough! I do not know how I did it, but I got an Intell pro 2100 wireless running on my laptop with Fedora. Still don't know how I did it, and the hard drive died, so that one is on WinXP now.

But don't give up on it, if I did it in Linux, anyone can. Just wish I knew how I did it... Lots of determination and beer... lots of beer. The next day, I had wireless.

Lol beer so that is y you can remember

Well i got it working once with Kubuntu and it was a pain in the @ss..

I found a guide online to make it work with my card but it think it requires that you install first and I kinda want to make sure everything works before I install....O well I might put a network drop in my room soon so that would fix it also

ADD...looks like Mandriva 2007.1 now has 3d desktop goodies built in also:
