| I just reinstalled windows and I seem to keep getting more and more problems. Today when I was trying to install my sound card drivers it wasn't working. I would be going through the install process and everything would go normal. Then after I restarted I went to play some music and it says somthing like "No audio device detected." Well then I go to Creative's control panel and it says no audio device detected....wtf. I figured I should try and move the sound card to a differen't PCI slot. Well when I did that I turn it on and now it's detected. That's better. Now the problem is when I go to install the drivers it first asks me to put my windows cd into the cd-rom drive because it's missing a file. I do that and nothing happens.... So I click cancel and it keeps going. Few seconds later it asks me to insert my creative installer cd. Do that and it asks to find a file. Well... the file isn't on the cd(atleast windows cant find it). I tried clicking cancel agian because I couldn't find the file. This time it closes the installer. Then I went into device manager and and it's showing that there is a new Multimedia Controller. That must be my sound card. I click on it and it gives me this error message: "This device is not configured correctly. (Code 1) To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Driver." I tried doing that but it just does the same thing as before. So I tried to reinstall it and it does the same thing as before. I will be honest though, the windows I have isn't exactly a legal version. When I used a crack on it do you think it screwed somthing up which is why it's asking for my windows cd when I go to install the driver? | ||

| Why dont you try this...... Goto creative's website and use the autoupdate feature. Select the software you want after it detects your card and install. I have used this option on every clean install i performed and its worked flawlessly for me. Maybe its just me but i've been using creative since the soundblaster 16 and havent had any issues with their products. | ||
