![]() | I've found out recently that the Creative forums do little good when trying to solve a problem. I've recently bought this card and am running it through a logitech z-5300e 5.1 system. My problems ATM are: When I do the speaker test it only responds through the front left and right speakers, but not through the center or rear speakers. But I do get sound through them when gaming/music/ect, but it isn't as loud, though I don't think mp3s should be as loud as through the fronts. Anyways, my big problem is this: When I try to mess with the Creative equalizer AT ALL, I get massive amounts of noise, and have to switch back to default settings or restart my comp to make it stop. The forums on their site have been little help, as everyone and their mother are having problems with snapping and crackling and popping noises. If anyone could help me out I would greatly appreciate it. |

![]() ![]() | Two primary things that you need to check/do if you haven't already... 1. Make sure that your speakers are plugged into the correct ports and are fully seated 2. Ensure that you have downloaded the latest drivers for the card. I'm not fully familiar with your speakers, but I would assume that there are multiple connections to plug into the various ports on the X-Fi card. Something that you may want to try if you don't have another computer laying around to test with is to plug each speaker into a known good port on the card. Test the sound and ensure that they are functioning properly. If they turn out to be good.. next move is to take a known good speaker (front right or left) and plug them into one of the ports that aren't working correctly. This will narrow down if it is the speakers or the card itself. Also, check in the audio properties to ensure that the sound levels for the center and rear speakers are turned up. I know these sound like n00bish things to check.. but it's often the small things that are overlooked. Hope this helps and let us know the results so we can work from there.
