I had this problem once before, it ended up for some reason or another my card came lose so i pulled it out and then put it back in and then did all the updated drivers then it worked fine after that have you tried doing that BB.

Ps this might sound stupid but just for the hell of it make sure your sound card did not get disable in your Bios i have also seen that happen before.

n your control panel under sound-audio is it showing the sound device you have working?Under audio playback is your default device named and enabled. If so try update driver in device manager and then your physical card.If all fails it may be bad,but I have never had 1 quit on me.Jo

yup i had that same issue with one of my sound cards...

reseeding / reinstalling driver would work for a week or so... what eneded up fixing the problem was moving it to a diffrent pci slot

I have to totally agree with THRiLL KiLL on this, if for some odd reason the pci slot you have it in has a issue a would try a different pci slot. It is worth a shot to try it a difeffrrent slot. Hope you get your sound back beachbum86 with out buying a new sound card. Good luck to you...
