Default Cannot change my directx sound card settings.

For some reason DirectX wont save the settings I want for my sound acceleration. Every time I exit from dxdiag it resets back to the default setting. Any ideas?

there no "settings" in Dxdiag it's only to show & test what you got

if you want to ajust something go -Start -All programs - Acessories -Entertaiment or double click on you sound Icon neer the time & date clock on the down right coner of your screen

Im not trying to change my volume, i want to lower my sound acceleration. But im almost positive if you go to the Sound tab your suppose to be able to lower your sound acceleration in order to get rid of "popping" and "cracking" in games. (also this popping and cracking isnt because of my volume being too high, cause it happens at all levels of sound)

Are you using the built in Realtek sound? Try lowering the Preamp a bit in the Realtek EQ settings.
