Default Audigy 2 to Case hookup.

I'm having a problem trying to hook up the front audio ports of my Antec Super Lanboy to my Audigy 2.

I was trying to do this on my own, with a little help from some friends.. but I ended up frying the card.
So after picking up another one, I decided to try again.. but with some PR help this time..

These are the pins on my Audigy 2 card. It''s just the original Audigy 2, no special edition.

These are the hookups from the case.

7 connectors.

The first 4 (from the left) are for sound.

Black = RET - L
Orange = RET - R
Red = FPOUT - L
Brown = FPOUT - R

The last 3 (from the right) are for the mic.

Red = MIC
White = MIC - BIAS
Black = AUD - GND

My first attempt I got the mic working, but it wasn't auto-detecting, it was just always on.
So no ideas what I did wrong there.

I'm just looking to get this working, so I can use my headset with Teamspeak, among other things.

Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure but I think that the only way to get the sound on the front is to get the front panel that is supplied with the audigy 2 platinum. The set of headers on the right is for the CL front panel. The set of headers on the right is for digital coax. and/or optical.

Other pimps may be able to give you better advice.

Eh, that is the connector for the Live Drive front box. It uses a wierd proprietary ribbon cable to connect. I dont think you can hook up your case front audio to that. There may be another way, but I'm not an expert on Creative sound cards. I just use em

Please, oh please, don't ever try to hook those cables into your Audigy 2 again.

The Ad_Link 1 and Ad_Link 2 ports are for hooking in specific Creative Labs I/O hubs (internal and external) with a propriatary ribbon. The S/PDIF (Sony/Phillips Digital Interface) is the commercial consumer version of AES-EBU and is used by audiophiles everywhere. HERE is a good link to read up on it if you want to.

As far as those pins go, they can only be hooked into the motherboard. Unfortunately, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, but when you installed the sound card, you had to disable the motherboard's onboard sound. I've heard...er, rather, read some people's statements that WinXP can recognize multiple sound cards but why?

Might as well see if you can sell off your card in the Trading Post and spring a few extra bucks for this.

Rob

P.S.
Don't get the USB version, either.

well one reason i can think of for multiple sound cards is so i can use my 5.1 headphones and my speakers without having to unplug and replace whenever i need to switch. davis has a noise curfew at 10PM and the guy underneath us is pretty strict so i switch around 9:30. i asked a while ago about using a switch so i can switch between the two but no go on that. tried using headphone splitter jacks but that reduced the signal to the speakers and messed around with the sound. i might just install my audigy and my audigy 2 and just set something up to disable and reenable whichever one i'm working on.

Hm.. So as is, there is absolutely no way to get the front ports working. Peachy.
Well guess I just use the rear ports.

Thanks all, saves me the headaches.
