| I recently reformatted my current rig (A Dell Dimension C521 ) and didn't realize I'd lost my driver's disc until AFTER I was finished reformatting. I've googled, and I've ask.com'd and I've searched through various technical websites, even Dell and Sigmatel and can't find the drivers for one Sigmatel 9220. Am currently going through updates and all that mess; maybe it'll fix itself. ROFL. One could hope. If anyone has any ideas as to where I could find the drivers for this, I would GREATLY appreciate the assist. I'm going nuts without my music. LOL. | ||

| If neither of those work, then I may as well get a new sound card and consider the onboard sound dead. Suprised though...I missed the one at Dell...though it didn't work...heh...spent like half an hour looking through Dell. *shrugs* Only issue will be finding an inexpensive sound card for a slim tower. Hopefully that won't be necessary. Big thanks for your help. (+rep)-edit- None of those work...so now I'm in the process of sending Dell an e-mail. Would be nice if they had the driver disc online for download for my system like they supposedly do for others. Damned proprietary companies. -.- -edit- Last edited by Duane2184; 19-July-07 at 02:04 AM.. Reason: They no work... :(( | ||

Hrm...must be getting somewhere...receiving a code 10 error - device won't start issue...*sigh* I sincerely hope that that doesn't mean that I -have- to buy a new sound card. And now it's time for sleep...before I do something rash...*smirk* ![]()

| Apex Techie Wannabe | My name is Debbie and IÂ’m with Dell Headquarters in Texas. I read your post and understand you need Sigmatel drivers for your Dimension C521. I tried to send you the link from Dell online technical support, but because I havenÂ’t posted to this forum 7 times yet, the forum engine wouldnÂ’t let me imbed the link. support.dell(dot)com/support/downloads/driverslist(dot)aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&ServiceTag=&SystemID=DIM_P4_C521&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid= Remember of course to substitute the (dot)s for the appropriate symbol. ![]() Please email directly if this doesnÂ’t resolve the problem. That link actually came in handy, as I was still missing drivers for the built-in Ethernet card and the graphics. Thanks! ![]() | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

Hi Debbie, My first time on this site so all please excuse my jumping in on this message. I have a DELL Inspiron 600m, WindowsXP SP2 (3yrs old) and lost USB ports. Had local tech. install new external USB ports and now have lost sound. Have gone on DELL site (drivers section) and tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers for audio but get error message (Code 10) for SigmaTel C-Major Audio card. Also remember seeing error message of not enough space allocation available (or something like that). Has the addition of external USB card in slot caused some alignment of available space away from the sound card? And if so, can it be redirected back or will I have to buy an external sound card? Hadn't used sound much before but need it now for running craft video instructions. Thanks for any help.

Unfortunately does not resolve issue. According to this info, it suggests "resource" conflict but this SigmaTel sound card does not have a "resource" so can't view that tab to see if in conflict with any other hardware applications. Scan of computer through DELL site shows all systems working ok and no newer drivers for this sound card. Still on the hunt for an answer.
