Default X-FI High Pitched Whine

I was playing Rainbow Six Vegas for a while when my center channel cut out. I closed the game, played some music and the center channel worked fine. Now i get this constant high pitched whine/wistle comming out of my speakers. Ive tried searching for the problem but i got no awnsers. Has anybody else had this problem or know how to fix this (its really annoying!).

thx.

My guess is (no, I am not kidding) that it is the sound of Creative's drivers sucking.

The whine is gone now. Its wierd how playing Rainbow Six can corrupt your sound drivers...

So you re-installed drivers? If so, new ones, older ones?
