Default Grinchitude.

Ugh, christmas, anyone else not looking forward to this holiday of money, familes, and hallmarks favorite time of the year?

I hate going ot family get togethers, my brother manages to steal all the attention. No one ever talks to me, and pretty much thinks I'm a loser becuase my hobby happens to be pc's. Everytime they do talk to me, they have no idea what I'm saying, come on! It's not my fualt!

Last time I even bothered talking to them, I mentioned that I was going to water cool my pc.

"HAHA, that's going to kill your computer!"

"idiot..."

Grrr, they know nothing!!!!!

Anyways, I am so not looking forward to heading out and meeting my cousins, let alone, anyone in my family, hell, I don't even fit in here.

Nice. How old are you? About 15 to 19 range?

So, Emo kid, so what. Who really freakin' cares that your brother gets attention. Is it because he actually did something with his life besides just bitch and moan? Listen Emo kid, you will have to suck up a lot more as you get older, you are getting no sympathy here.

There are so many children living on the streets, so many families torn apart by war, so many people who will not have a Christmas at all.

Shut up, Emo kid.

My problems with Christmas involve 2 things:
-Listening to Christmas songs that are either too old (like Chipmunks stuff) or too new (Christmas music remixes)
-Not being able to buy what I want because 1,000 other people bought it before I did.

I like Christmas becuase people become more polite that any other time of the year. If you go to a coffee shop you'll see people actually hold doors open for other people and clerks put more effort into making mint flavored stuff to start your day on a high note. People tip better during the holidays too.

In a few years you'll start to see more people who are so much more different than you, and you'll see that having a time of the year where such different people can come together is important stuff.

And as for your brother, just know that he can't keep that much attention without having to do something good that's worth talking about. But if the dude sells crack to kids and your family still loves him then that's the kind of attention you don't want to share.

Step 1.) Go spend Christmas at a soup kitchen dishing out food for people who have nothing. Somewhere with a hard winter, like Chicago. IF you can still look at yourself in the mirror soon after, you have no heart.

Step2. ) Think about how you modify expensive electronics for fun and these people don't even have a ****ing toilet. Think they can hop online and bitch about minor **** when they don't even know for sure they won't freeze to death?

Step 3.) Mature.

I'm flying to Indiana to spend 4 days with a pack of rednecks and weirdos I couldn't be more different from. They don't even get what I do for a living let alone my hobbies. Several of them do not get along and I (along with my sister) get to spend most of the time stopping arguments. I will also be warm, safe and well fed. I've spent Christmas in the past in a shelter for women and children. Ever eat a moldy sandwich because that's all you can get? I live in arguably the worst part of town here, hookers, crack dealers, crime everywhere, I don't like the area at all. I still get to sleep in a bed every night, drive to a good job and still get to do pretty much everything I want to. How about the soldiers? Away from their families for Christmas. Some of them aren't coming back. If the worst thing you have to worry about is your family not understanding your hobbies or some sibling favoritism, then you are far better off than someone who is running a pretty good risk of being killed in action. Think about the things you do have, if you still feel unhappy ask someone to slap you... hard.
