| Just wondering... Would you want to know the exact date of your death? Not how you go, but when you go. Would you enjoy life more knowing when it was going to end? To be able to plan out the things that you want to accomplish in life before that date? Would you sink into a depressed funk knowing that you're one day closer to death? Would you shut out the world? I've got a friend that got some pretty sobering news the other day and this is simply some of the things that we talked about. I know those out there that are suffering from a terminal disease would have a different view than those that don't. I'm just curious as to how you folks feel... Rob | ||

I was the the same but in one of the sonars I saw and of course had to ask the doctor if I was right, so I'm expecting a son in September.

That's some thing else I didn't want to know since I'm old enough to be your father and of course your son's grandfather. ![]()

| There is a reason why I asked this question... Is it fair that people on death row know the date and time of their execution? With a high degree of probability, they know exactly when they are going to die. This gives them time to make amends and send messages to those that they love so they can leave the world in relative peace. They get a chance to say goodbye. What about us living out here in the real world? Many times over, we take each other for granted, believing that our futures are secure. Yeah, so what if I forgot to tell my parents that I loved them the last time I called them....I'll call them tomorrow, right? Then the car in front of me hits some debris that fell into the road, flips sideways, and I drive headlong into their gas tank. I just want this to be an important reminder to all of us that we really don't know when we are going. Always try to tell those you love exactly how you feel about them because it could be your last chance. Rob | ||

| Doesn't really bother me weather I know or not, when you've got suicidal tendancies you start to not care about such things. I guess it would be weird to know the hour of your own death if you've never really comtemplated it before. I guess those on death row are lucky in a way they do get to say goodebye and leave in peace. | ||

| All the more reason to live every day like it were your last. I don't mean just to party it up the whole time, but to appreciate everything you are given or experience every single day. Lord knows I have some things to be thankful for in the recent past. | ||

| I would want to know if I had a desiese or somthing terminal. But I don't want to know that I'm gonna kick the bucket on Dec 24 2030. In other words I don't want to know the date and time a safe may fall on my head, But I would like a little advance notice if my health is the cause. | ||

| I dont need to know when i will die just that i will. That is enough for me to appreciate many things and get my rear end moving so if it happens sooner than later at least my son will be set for college and his teen years. all i ask is that when he turns 16 that he gets a dope BMW for his burfday Insurance money can go a long way when your cremated. | ||

| If one were to know when one was to die then one would be parylised by indesision as they tried to fit an infinite quantity of experiance into that short period of time. if given the option of knowing I would say yes but as I do not belive a defined fate the presance of an acurate date and time of death would cause me to radicaly reases my place in the universe. More than anything I would try and break out of that fate and change the date of my death to try and prove that I have some mesure of personal freadom. Knowing when I would die would only be the begining. I also in my mind question if we ever die as we know so little about the universe, is it unreasnoble to think there is more than one of me? multiple universes? | ||

| You really ought to watch Big Fish this is what the whole movie is about. I chose no because I would do nothing but worry about it. At the same time though knowing when you will die would really allow you to live every day without the fear that you were going to die. | ||
