Question insomnia??

well, hmmm dont know how to start this but ill just throw it out there.

i get about 3 hours a sleep a day and i feel fine, energetic enough to make several house calls for verious computer related issues...driveing up to 15 minuts away. and still have well enough energy to go out at night and then some. this isnt new, its been like this for past 5 years. it just reasently came to my attention when i relized i find myself the only one awake amongths friends.

i get up at about 9-10am each day and dont go to sleep till around 5 or 6 am the next. and when i get up i feel like new...so is this a form of insomnia or is my body actually recovering ?

-edit-
oh, and if whenever i have alot of work to do at the office, if i stay up a little tooo late i cant go back to sleep until the fallowing night. (like now, i havnt gone to sleep yet because of a job that is do this morning, so i stayed up tooo late getting it done now im ready for a whole new day....not tired at all )

If you feel fine, why worry about it? I wish I could do that, it would make college SOOO much easier

I would get it checked out, or try to get yourself back into a better sleeping pattern.

I usually get up around 8am for lectures, or on days off around 10am and stay up usually till around 4/5am. I feel fine in the mornings, but every so often I have a week of complete exhaustion and sleep 16 hours a day.

Im sure its not healthy, but I just don't get tired till early in the morning. Go see a doc and get some advice

Ur fine dude. I've had similar sleep problems but a family friend who is a docter said people can sleep lightly for a long time or sleep a really deep sleep for not that long and have the same results.

If u need someone to IM or play a game or two that late hit me or T2 up.

Through the middle of the week I sleep maybe 6 or 7 hours, but on the weekends I have been known to pull all nighters no problem...

I get around 5-6 hours of sleep a night and by the end of the week, I'm a wreck. I catch up on weekends with 12-14 hours of sleep a night if I can get it.

I have a had a weird case of insomnia my whole life. About once a month I will go 3 days straight with no sleep, NOT EVEN A WINK, but still feel perfectly fine. I also have a very bad case of sleep walking once in a while. Not regularly like the insomnia. But its really bad when I do. I wake up in the weirdest places. I live out in the country and once I woke up about a quarter of a mile away from my house. I had stickers and cuts all over my feet..it sucked, but was funny.

Yeah, I myself don't really don't get the "recommended" amount of sleep, which really is irrelevant, seeing how no one's body is the same as another, nor is their daily life the same. So I say, don't really worry about it. If you really want to get more sleep, try some herbal tea. Lemonbalm usually makes people drowsy, or you could go hardcore and just skip straight to Valerian tea, which will put you out like a light, but man, that stuff reeks.
