I'm sure this is old news to most but i'm still gonna pitch a bytch. My son gets a magazine "Game Informer" and i sometimes read it to see what new game he's talking about and if its apropreaite for him. I was reading through this months issue when i came across an article about RockStar game's GTA: SA and a cheat/hack called "Hot Coffee". Now if you dont know what this lil' cheat does , let me inform you, when you enter this cheat, it cuts to a scene of two people having SEX , yup you heard me right , a SEX scene.
WTF,!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Are you kidding me!!!!!!!! How F$$KING STUPID are these game makers???? These companies know 100% without a doubt that ,if this game hits the market, young kids are going to be playing it. There is NO EXCUSE for putting this kind of CRAP in a video game. I hear people all the time screaming about freedom of expression, creative rights , blah blah blah, well if your going to produce this kind of trash , that YOU KNOW will land in the hands of young kids, wether you label it "Mature" or not, then IMO , BUBBA !! YOU DO NOT DESERVE THESE FREEDOMS!!!!With freedom ,comes responcability, and if one cannot exersize that responcability, then i dont care what the Constitution says, you should not be allowed these freedoms. RockStar games is so VERY LUCKY that im not in power, because if it was up to me , i would DROP THE HAMMER on this company.

Yeah there was a few threads on this a while back. It really doesnt bother me at all. I think it is funny really. But in your case as a father, I understand where you must be coming from. So I can back you on the parental part. But as an adult gamer I just think its funny.

Yea I got that mod, Its kinda funny, but I dont get how you use it or do it anyway....It says something abotu the rythem or w/e.

It starts out the same way everytime. Guy stands up unzips fly (BUT, the funny thing is, THERE IS NOTHING THERE...Dead serious, its like invisible) And then they have sex with cloths on....lmao

Its good if you like to see 3D Characters havee sex the wrong way.

That was deep man but really...although kids willl be reading it it really has to be treated like Porn at this point which parents know is bad for kids, and this game falls under the same category meaning parents should not buy it (17+ to buy it) in the first place.

Though it is pitiful of Game Informer to print this in a magazine to a large audience of kids who know would flip right to that article everytime to catch the eyecandy...

Meh, GTA is aimed for an adult market. It's not a kid's game. It never really HAS been a kid's game.

The first ones were pretty corrupt, and since GTA:3, it's gotten steadily worse.

"Hot Coffee" wasn't a great idea on a customer/merchandising level. It should have been marketed sperately as an expansion pack or an "unofficial patch". Hot Coffee got GTA:SC pulled off the shelves. I'm damn happy I snagged my copy before it went bye-bye. I don't even know if they've managed to get it back in the stores yet at all. It's gettin' hard to find.

The game itself is fun as hell. I have so many hours into that game, it's not funny. Even the standard version of the game, you pick up hookers to restore your life, blow up innocent bystandards for kicks, and mow down every form of authority you can find with an arsenal of weaponry and a ton of vehicles.

Between assassination missions, home-invasions, stealing everything that's not nailed down, meeting a dominatrix at her door with a uhh... "toy" in your hand and a wiping out entire gangs for kicks, rep and cash... it's already not being marketed as a "good for the kiddies" game.

Hot Coffee isn't a big surprise for those of us who have been playing the GTA series for awhile. It'd be nice if a kid never got ahold of GTA. I'll admit, I found out my kid had been playing it, I'd be freakin' out... but as a responsible adult, I like having the option of playing games like GTA...

Hell, right now, I'm playing "The Suffering"... which highlights include wondering around soaked in blood... and your ending is based off of how many innocent people you kill. I just beat it as the "Good Guy"... going back and slaying everyone just to see the other ending now.

I'm not sure why people aren't really interested in cute and fuzzy games... but I don't think games like GTA will be discontinued anytime soon, barring legal intervention.

I like my games like I like everything else- to be able to buy whatever I want. So there is sex and violence in games, there is violence and sex in movies. Same topics, similar media.

If you clamp down on production of porno and violent movies, it's censorship.

If you shut down game producers, it's for the good of the children. Please.

I'm over 18, I can buy porn. I may want to buy GTA games. Because some kid may see a pixellated boob, either by subversion or from parents' negligence, groups want to censor games.

National Institute on Media and the Family, Hillary Clinton, and Joe Lieberman aren't doing children any favors. They are supporting censorship. Games may not always be tasteful, but they have the right to exist without censorship.

BTW, this is an old topic; and GTA wasn't any good after GTA2.

The game is intended for an adult audience. Which means your kid(s) shouldn't play it. But since we're talking about games, feel lucky that he/she didn't play postal 2 or anything like that. It's the one game that has been brought up for trial here (Sweden) for excessive gore and discriminating of all kinds of people, though, to my knowledge, there isn't any sex in it.

YES! Ive been through it...almost twice... Thats probably the most F'ed up part of the game...

WHat about those those bodies that are attached to the wall, or even crosses? They are attached to machines but are like moving and crap..

As for GTA, they have released a Second Edition, which, I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the Second Edition is rid of the Hot Coffee cheat..

#1 - if the hilary C thing was an insult, it went over my head ..............

#2- I was mainly pissed that they would intentionaly leave this in the game, it shows a lack of morals, as do alot of things on the internet do also. its like the old question

They didn't really "Leave it in", they disabled itto the point that files need to be modified in order to re-enable it, from a programmer's perspective, I can understand this. Trying to cut the entire section out could destroy other code if there are references made to the code in question. It wasn't just a simple cheat code like typing in "gimme some lovin" or something like that. I believe they did what they felt was sufficient to keep the content from being accessed, they however underestimated their fans' coding abilities.

I remember the whole stink over Doom after the Columbine shootings, it's all about the player. Has nothing to do with the game. I play Call of Duty and I'm a fiend with the Bren LMG, but you don't see me bringing one to work and knocking people's heads off, even though there are quite a few people there who deserve it.

It all comes down to the player being able to separate reality from fiction. **** I remember when I was younger I played stuff like Streets of Rage and Duck Hunt, and Tomcat Alley. I didn't get into FPS until I got Dark Forces and Halflife 1.

It's sad, but the fact is that sex and violence sells. Our society is very immoral and corrupt and it is up to parents to stop this for future generations. The less of this garbage we buy, they less they will sell.

I was tough on both of my kids when they were young. My daughter is into punk music (the real punk, not poserpunk) and my son is.. well.. my son (recently from Iraq).

We teach them correctly as they grow up and hopefully they will be instilled with some sort of semblance of the morality (etc) that we teach them.

I play only a few video games: flying, driving, and an occasional fps. I don't care for gore, or sex in gaming, it has no place there IMO.

HTRN.. I hear ya, stay vigilent with your kids, they'll turn out okay no matter what they play or listen to.
