Default Job Poll: now with an actual poll attached!

What do you think of your current job?

ADD: I guess I should add I went for the "Office Space" answer and here's why....

Remember the bit with everybody talking to Peter 'bout his TPS reports?

Here's my story...

Melonie (my Supervisor) comes over and says, "Hunter, you have a bunch of water bottles all over the place, could you do something about it, you're spreading out."

I looked around and I was like, "Yeah, no problem... I didn't really mean to collect that many."

My Manager comes over WHILE I'm cleaning up...

"You are going to clean this up, right? We can't have water bottles all over the place."

Me: "Yeah, I'm on it."

Shannon (Our Coordinator, she ships stuff out for warranty work): "David, did they talk to you about your water bottles yet? They had a meeting about it this morning"

"Uhh yeah... I'm good."

Then, later in the day, I had already gotten everything squared away...

Ken comes over (Management in training), "Did David (there are three Davids in my department... in this case, Manager David) talk to you about those water bottles?"

Me: "Yeah, I got that memo... I just forgot...."

Had better, had worse, and it pays the bills. It was more enjoyable last year. Much more pressure this year doing the same crap. More micro-management.

I used to have days like that at my old job and I'd always have flashbacks to that movie and how satisfying it would be....*sigh*

I like my job cause it gets me out of the house... and away from all the drama between my CS clan and my ex-clan... ...and I get paid for it, too... $10.30 every movie I watch, 3-4 movies a night.

I really enjoy what I'm doing now. My employee's and my director are great, but some of my co-supervisors leave a lot to be desired. I get tired of telling people who are over 40 years old to grow the f**k up and get over it.

I hate my job, but i like most of the people that i work with. I'm there because of the $$ (not great, but better than elsewhere). It's semi medium-term, though: back to college this summer (dear god....please), and in 5-7 short years (so sue me for being optimistic) a total career change.

OR, i could just snap, get my guns out of pawn , and climb the nearest tower (i'm joking - i don't own any guns......actually, having a heart attack or a nervous breakdown would probably be closer to the truth).
