   |  Don't you hate it when people say, HEY, your name here, can you fix my PC for me. and you say sure or something like that, what are you running? and they always say the same dam thing, I dont know! Well before you open your mouth and ask for help, you may want to figure out the problem and the system specs at least!  |

 |  yeah, i tried to "fix" my X's compaq, decided her "problems" (crashing and what not) were comming from having a waping 64MB of ram, so i put in an extra 128 stick and it dosnt recognize it at all. POS, not much you can do with it

| Uhg, Dell's and Compaq's... I can remember using a Dell, the same 17" Dell LCD, K/B and Mouse i'm using now , just before I destroyed it and replaced everything 'cept the PSU, DVD's and a fan. I'm kinda glad noone in my town knows jack about PC's ( mind the few clever teens here and there), makes things easier for me.

That's because the Compaq's usually require ECC RAM. Some of the Compaq's and HP's are VERY finicky about what sticks you throw in it and you need to buy sticks specifically made for that model.
