Sleep deprivation and you... err... me, rather

I'm typing this at a LAN party, where I have now been awake for the last 24 hours. Stereomod and I were talking, and we were wondering......

How long have you gone without sleep?

My 'record' was about 5 hours of sleep total over a course of 5 days during my caffiene withdrawl symptoms phase. That was followed by one hell of a nap.

When I was much younger Me and a friend downed a 12pack each of Jolt with No do3 and a half days later I finally dropped. I think i slept for like 16 hours.

I'm jealous. Not sure where there are lanparty's here.

We had a thread like this a while back - afaik BA holds the record here for something like 3 days active duty without sleep during the Gulf War.

My pb is something like 30 hours (including driving c.700 miles) ... although I did once spend 3 & a bit weeks asleep. No, hang on, that was a coma

Well, I can't quite hold against that 72, but I've gone 48 more than once... HOWEVER, I am young, and sleep pretty late before doing so.

As a comercial Fisherman 72's are the norm, Ya get dingie, but the ocean is a big place.If I told ya the longest I've been awake, you'd never belive it...psycosis sets in and nothing seems to be real. Every shadow looks like another sea monster.

Me, I dunno, 22 hours I think... my sleep record is 18 hours (no coma, just sleep)

Odd this thread would come after this last weekend for me...lol

Was awake Friday 8am - Sunday to say 6am, slept 5 hrs that Sun morning and was awake till 5am this morning.

Sounds like Zenn and I could share some stories...lol....I've had longer stints than the one Ive just described this week to be though.

heh no im not ..... but i have seen things that aren't there when i haven't slept in a while and no i wasn't refering to now in time i was just asking a question!! anyway i give up im going the hell to bed be up in 2 hours or so

The GraveYard shift has always been the best for me...I always seem to get more done through the night...

I would have to say about 36-48 hours on new years. We usually stay up all night, last year we didnt though.

The longest ive gone was 42 hours fightin wild fire, but that was fun and pretty intense. Right now im feelin pretty wiped out, because in the last month month the shortest day ive worked was 14 hours, and what makes it worse is im not even at sea. Wish i was paid by the hour. F*ck salary. Never Again Volunteer Yourself.

i have occasional bouts of insomnia. the worst was a couple weeks after i turned 13, i didn't sleep for 3 days, passed out in the shower for a couple hours, then stayed awake for another 2 days.

i seem to remember thinking i was a government spy and my family would kill me if they found out.

i've never been awake that long actually DOING something, though, so i'll tip my hat to you military/fisherman guys

Grassy Ass Amigo! The best is when you fall asleep while turnin a wrench. Actually the funniest sleep deprived thing ive ever seen happened in bootcamp when a buddy and me woke up a little early one mornin at about 3 to iron our uniforms. This guy had a strange habit of checking to see if the iron was hot enough by holding it close to his face. This guy was so wrecked that he dozed when he was holding it to his face and got a nice little burn on his cheek. I was really rollin when he was beat for bein a dumbass.

I once went 2 days when I was in the Navy.. Decided to drink when I got off work...Got caught out past curfew ...well the military people here know the rest....
