This is something that ive wanted to discuss here but was never quite sure what kinda reaction i would get or what kinda response so im sticking my chin out here and taking a big risk in tell all you wonderful people this so you don't end up like me or your friends don't end up like me. I have been clean naow from drugs for 1 week and i feel good and i feel proud and feel like i have accomplished something in my life.,. any feed back would be great Than kyou very much in advance: Stereomod |

| Mystical Schwinn Guru | All I can say is stay clean and don't o back to doing drugs, here in Florida it's a big thing, there's a lot of potheads and meth heads, infact just recently the local police found a meth-lab out in the woods by the school. Congrats on your efforts to stay clean, keep it up. |

| Still Duck's Hoe Though | Congrats on getting clean. I wont lie I've had my ins and outs with drugs over the years, so I can relate to the things youre saying. It seemed I was always fortunate enough to have some dumb luck, or just know myself when things were getting out of hand. (Actually its out of hand the minute you start )You've made it through the rough part, now just stay busy, focused and clean....Good luck

| Gridiron | Hmm wierd, two threads on a similar subject in one day. Good job on the precious week that you have Stereo, remember what it feels like and what you've been through is my suggestion. Ive picked food out of a garbage cans with money in my pocket before cuz I wanted the money for booze, I'll never know how many detox's Ive been in cuz I was in blackouts, hell I was in ICU and saw the white light ( dome actually with me looking at myself). Today I don't crave it or think about it I'm engaged, have my own business and belong in PimpRig. Been eight years since I wanted any drug or drink. Any questions you might have you can hit me up on MSN if you like. |

![]() | Congrats but it is not over it is just beginning and there is work to be done. The key is willingness, when you don't want to, when you don't think it will work anymore, when you think you don't need to, when you think you can do it without going through the work and then once you are done with the work you have to remember that you must enhance your spirituality. If you are willing and you do it I guarantee that you will experiece life in a very special way. The things that others take for granted you will get enjoyment out of and the special things will be that much more special. If you relapse take this one thing with you so that when it is happening you can see it and hopefully get help, this behavior is progressive and drugs are only a manifestation of this behavior. This is to say that you may start out with a drink because it is the weekend, then because you had a crappy day, then because you had a good day, then because the sun came up. Get the idea? And it may take 1 year or it could take 40 years but it is progressive. Also like I said above drugs are just one manifestation. You could quit drugs and start eating compulsivly or like me when I first got clean start sleeping with every woman you come accross. It can be too much TV or too much work, hell it can be just about anything. Take direction even when you don't want to it will help keep you out of trouble. And if you do relapse, don't hate yourself for it. That is not to say that it is okay to relapse only that you don't need to do more emotional damage. Get over it and continue with your work. But also remember that if you do relapse, there is no guarantee that you will make it back because in the end this behavior leads to jails, instatutions and death. One other thing I am not talking out of my a$$. I used that guy that would make you cross the street in fear. I did much dirt and hurt many people but thanks to a loving God who I choose to call Jesus Christ I am now that guy that will do whatever I can to help you. psycho

| 5-Hoe-1 Jeans | You took the admirable route. I have an ex-grilfriend who was going to go to rehab after she tried some meth. You see, she didn't spend a waking moment off of weed and she'd done a few others. Then she made a deal with her parents to stay off drugs for 3 months and take a course on susbtance awareness (which would even look better on her transcript). Now she's an extreme3ly heavy drinker and chain-smoker and I don't doubt that once those 3 months are over she'll be back where she was. It's terrible because she's a wreck now. None of her friends want to be too close to her because they can't handle her. So I guess what I'm saying is that it's great that you left it to the pros, it's great that you recognize your problem, and of course, it's great that you're succeeding. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I am going to hold off on the congratulations until it has been a while longer, but it is good to see that you are getting things in order. The first 2 weeks to 2 months are the hardest part. Good luck! |

| Apex Tech Demi-God | Just be careful so you don't substitute your drug problem with something else. Some people who get off of drugs will start to become alcoholics, or gluttons instead. I strongly recommend that you stop smoking too. I do not know how hard it is to stop smoking because I never started because I had too many relatives die from smoking. Some people say smoking makes them happy and they would rather rather die than not to have a cigarette. That is a bunch of BS. I'm a happy person and I don't smoke. I can do many things that smokers can not do, like going jogging for great distances. I hope I didn't go off of topic too much. Congrads on your first big step. Looks like you have many more steps to climb, but it shouldn't be that bad, because admitting that you have/had a problem is the hardest step to climb.. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I think the best thing that happened to you was self-realization. It is no longer fun when you actually realize what you are doing to yourself. I would never put anybody down for having to deal with a monkey, as a matter of fact, I find that someone who dealt with a monkey and kicked it's ass has a better outlook on life and is a better person in general. I've had a monkey, but now he's lost. |
