| Well, as the title states, advice from NONprofessionals... I started this forum because of the solid advice I've gotten from PR staff/members over the past year, on everything from hardware to fashion to dating. I can't give fashion advice, but the other two I'm decent with. I hold no certifications. I do, however, have counseling training from college, and hold a license to ministry, so I'm experienced in the field. So, take it all with a grain of salt. If others give you advice, do the same. We're geeks, not psychologists, but we all care about each other here. If the advice seems suspect, call them on it. This isn't a place to flame others. This is not intended for you to base your life on. Advice is just that. It's not mandatory that you follow. I screw up, and so will all the rest of us. So, if someone tells you to sell it all and move away, SERIOUSLY weigh the consequences of your actions before you do. That being said, it's a place to swap stories, learn a little, laugh a little, and share some of what makes PR special as compared to other sites. Not only do we have the knowledge, we have the heart. So, treat others as you would want to be treated, cause the toes you step on today may be attached to the butt you have to kiss tomorrow... Have fun guys, I'm open for business. Pull up a chair and stay awhile... | ||

| This post is about to the same tune as Kayin's.. I am a non-professional. I'm a psychology major (no PhD folks, so don't take what I say as gospel!), and I have experience in giving advice, in that I have spent many years advising my friends (thinking back on it, I've been doing it since I was 13.. dang!) and helping them through their problems to the best of my ability. I am not a miracle worker, and I can't solve all your problems, but that doesn't mean I won't make my best effort to make you feel better, and maybe help you get through things. ![]() As far as my "Advice Corner" thread goes, that's more of a joke-ish advice thing than anything. For serious advice, I'm sure there will be plenty more threads to come. If you're embarassed about a real problem you might have, and don't want the whole world to know about it, feel free to PM me, too. ![]() The advice I give tends to cover subjects such as relationships, and life in general. I don't know everything, but I know a little something. Even if I can't help you solve your problems, I offer my ears to listen, and my shoulders to cry on. It's the least I can do! I'm a very empathetic person and I hate to see people down. Before I start sounding like a broken record, I'll end this post here. Take care, y'all! | ||
