You want to get a lappy shipped from the states? I doubt after customs tax the crap outa it, and the shipping costs in the first place, it will be any cheaper at all.

I've got a couple donations coming to me thru snail mail and I don't know there amounts.

That is roughly 212.00 in British Pounds...about half of what the USD value is.

A basic Lappy from Dell UK starts at £399, wich is about 800 USD...

The same on in the US is only 500$ you guys realy get screwed on hardware pricing!

Beetle, if I recall Correctly most of Europe uses around 220V but the power bricks for nearly all Laptops (Dell, HP, Gateway, Apple etc.) are rated for 110-240V, so the only thing needed is an adapter for the plug.

If the custom bastards in the UK are similar to the ones here in Iceland, then marking it as a gift is futile, they usually open the package and gifts are only duty and tax free if their under a certain amount.
