| Damnation!!! I've been with my other half for 11 years. We have a 5 year old son, a nice house and an average car. Things were going fine until last week when she demanded I move all my computer stuff out of the house (bar the PC I'm typing on). My shed now contains half a ton of half built PCs, cards, drives, keyboards, monitors, and various equipiment/bits for 'future mods'. My life officially sucks .My question is this: Do I submit and keep the stuff in the shed? Leave her and my son for a modding flat/workshop of my own? Kill her, claim the insurance and start a modding business with my son? Help me PCApex. You're my only hope. | ||

| I know how you feel. Until recently I had a nice 13x13 home office/workshop full of my crap. But then we had our 2nd baby. So we moved Dylan out of his room (the smallest) upstairs to our old room (the biggest) upstairs. Moved us to the old office. Moved the home office into the room we use for a gym/storage and i would get a corner of the room. Moved the workshop to the 10x12 shed, along with a ton of other stuff. But you gotta do what you gotta do. | ||

| If she loves you then she will care about, understand, and respect your hobbies and passions, and she will be willing to meet you half way. It depends... is your entire house filled with masses of clutter from old cases, fans, PSUs, boxes etc to extreme degrees? Or do you just have a little bit of mess in your living room's workshops corner? ![]() I'm sure if you make the effort to keep things tidy, neat, and out of her immediate way, she'll be happy. I doubt she'll leave you just because you have a few PC parts laying around in her way. Put the crap you can do without into storage somewhere, and keep the more valuable goods in-doors. Compromise. | ||

| It's all been sorted. We're spending £30,000 on an attic conversion which will give me a spare room and provide another bedroom for our growing family. The deal was, if she wants another kid, I want my own workshop to hide in! Cheers for the advise guys and gals Duplo. | ||

![]() You're spending over $60,000 to convert an attic space to a spare room for you and another bedroom? Dude...let me be your carpenter and I'll save you at least $10,000. Damn, I didn't realize that labor/building costs were so expensive over there. In the United States (or at least where I live), you could expect to spend under $10,000 easily and have it look great.

| I'm a big fan of option 3 but that's just because I aspire to one day be a crime lord. On the more realistic side... most chicks make it so that you even feel guilty for even asking to keep your stuff in the house. Unless you have a cool chick that understands that you have to be a man.... I would just keep it safe and store it til you need it. | ||

| J-Dogg has it right. If you want steady Tang, or any Tang at all, you need to compromise. I try to do at least one thing a day that is so sweet or uncharacteristic that I am sure to get laid. Yeah, I have to go against my own grain a little bit, but it pays off big time. | ||

Sometimes it takes awhile to find the right girl, dude... took me 'til I was 27. Don't let it get ya down. Also... mine is asking me if I really need four computers in our front-room and what I'll be doing with them once I complete my new build... I'm thinking of trying to hide them around the house... maybe duck this computer in the closet as a file server, get a desk I can possibly throw two towers into, and I did end up getting rid of my old 586 AMD K-5 finally... sometimes it's about moving stuff (out of sight, out of mind) and comprimising here and there (do you REALLY need your old PC from the dark ages, just because of sentimental value? That crap is heavy and space-consuming). As it is, after my last move, I was thankful to be down some of my oldest crap. It's kind of nice to not have to move it.
