Default stop spamming me

Everyday in my email I find a pcapex newsletter in my inbox. I flag it as spam but it still comes. I look for the option to stop spam in the user CP only to find out I have used a different email address for this account. I try contacting an admin here but nobody has replied. I expect this sort of thing from a less reputable site but from here?

Go into your User CP > Options > Untick the "Receive email from Administrators".

That help?

Also you need to change how you subscribe to threads, go to the drop down menu and click no email, in the same page that dex said, under

UserCP->options->how you subscribe to threads,

but with all you old subscribed threads you need to select them all and either unsubscribe, or change them to non email prmpt, which you can get to these options under

UserCP->list subscriptions-> use the check boxes and use the drop down enu at the bottm of the page.

If your still having issues just reply with whats wrong

I've turned off all your subscriptions. But if you signed up for the "Update Center" (left hand column) you'll need to click on that and follow the instructions for contacting Gary with problems.

Send me a PM with the email address you are receiving the updates through and I can remove them... you should have info at the bottom of each email to use to remove the updates as well. There is even a link directly to the form at the bottom of all the emails as well.

When we installed the update center module - it went retro-mode and started sending to all the previously registered members. He probably registered once upon a time to vote on a poll or post in the gallery and recently has been getting emails.

To make things worse - probably 70% of the folks that are getting these emails have no fookin' idea how they ended up on our mailing list because they joined when we were under the name PimpRig and have never even seen the name 'PCApex' let alone passing knowledge they have anything to do with us. I bet good money, we've been reported as spam to all the major spam filtering sites by now.

Nah... I have been all over any requests to remove them from the list and answer questions as to how I have their email address. The first month was rough. Plus, the email updates would be hard to mistake for spam and I include all info needed to unsubscribe within each email. I don't want to spam anyone... Also, for the record, all the emails that was retroactively added were from accounts that chose to allow admins to contact them via email.

OK, done. But why isn't there a seperate option to recieve notices or newsletters? I had thought that option was for like if you were doing something to get you banned the admin would notify you or something similar.
