Haha yep I've been making a lot of suggestions to awards and such lately heres my newest one.

How about a a system where you can choose which class you'd like to add rep to. So you could have:
Overclocker's rep: for those that help with overclocking
Cooling Rep: for those that help with cooling
OS Rep: etc, etc, etc

Then they add up to your overall reputation which we have today. And after you recieve so many rep points towards a category you recieve different levels of awards automatically. Because so many people already have awards they could just start out at level 1 of that award. (maybe have a bronze, silver, gold)

To sum it up: It would automate the award system, and show a level of expertise in an area and would continue to work with the reputation system already.

The system as it is functions well.

If you stand out in an area then people notice and you may get nominated for a trophy icon as long as the admins and mods believe it is warrented.

+Rep? give it when you think it is worthy for what ever reasone you like.
-Rep? give it sparingly when you know in your heart someone is being an asshat.

The rep system works fine I don't see where a change as you suggest would actualy make a big
diffrence.

Thats just my thoughts on the matter.

I like the rep system as is, as well. The more options given, the more mistakes to be made.

I think we're a small enough community that we can notice people's expertise without an automatic system. It might get a little confusing otherwise

That has been in many discusions here in the forums, but I will have to agree with BA....Its just getting to be to much. So many awards, Sigs, Icons, Trophies, rep, posts, bla bla bla.... If I had my way all this would stay in the public profile. Leave the forums as "A Forum" and not a 3 ring circus.

Now don't get me wrong, I like to give out rep and awards when they are earned.

I would only go with something like this if the neg rep had categories too, such as:

• It's called "thinking", you should try it sometime
• Doesn't realize Google exists
• Smells like ass... dumbass
• Desperate attention whore
• Awwww, the little Princess is not pleased
• Here's some more sand for your mangina
• Has as much integrity as a graham cracker house in a rainstorm

True....how true...
