In know you're kinda making a joke but, I have noticed that the newsbot is taking up A TON of space in the recent discussions view.

I'm wondering if a request could be made to GK to have the newsbot threads filtered out of the Recent Discussions view so that we can see only discussions started by members. Seeing that the number of pages in the Recent Discussions has been reduced to 2-3 pages, I think that would be appropriate.

The other problem is that I can't go to the New Posts section to try to avoid the newsbot. It's there too!! Cluttering up all the members' posts.

I understand this is just my opinion, but I wanted to put it out there.

Typically if I'm looking for news or articles, I go specifically to that section of the site, but when I'm looking for the Recent Discussions it's a PITA wade through all the newsbot's threads.

Let's bring some sanity to the newsbot.

I had made this suggestion before that newsbot was a little insane on his posting before but it seems like lately it has been getting worse.

1. Go to User CP
2. Edit Options
3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to the Miscellaneous Options box
4. In the Exclude Forums from "Get New Posts", select the forums you want to exclude.
(Hold the CTRL to select multiple)

No worries... The only reason I knew the answer for this is because I asked the same thing to GK a while ago.

Doesn't really address the problem...

I don't want to exclude the Newsbots posts, as I find myself following the links quick regularly, but I also don't wanna see everything it posts 4 times...

Why is this happening? Its been brought up before as ranger says.

i dont seem to see them all four times, seems kinda strange i had them blocked from new posts once, but i changed it back cause i had nothing to read all the time, still i've never seen them go 4 or 5 copys of the same thing

I will have duplicate threads removed... I still have not figured out why that happens once in a while.
