PCApex Forum Colors Feedback?

OK guys... I am working on making the site look a bit softer/easier on the eyes. I was using ALOT of white and I think it resulted in makeing the page look a bit too busy. These colors should help to emphasize the page content and make things generally more pleasing to look at.

Please leave me some feedback on this. if you guys say it is a step in the right direction then these colors will be extended to the entire site.

The darker the blue the better. Check the "post reply" button too, there is a white halo around it.

subtle colors based on the same color scheme you already have would be nice (imo)

I think you sohuld try 'templating' the site (if possible not sure what your code is like) so that users can pick different visual styles :-). ;-) honestly though i'mh appy with the way it is heh.

I tried using subtle variations of greys for a while but they just didn't do it for me. We have been associated with our "blues" quite a bit. I will still keep the greys for the content areas but the backgrounds will have the blue-grey colors like currently on the forums and in the gallery.

I updated the buttons just now as well.

Tell me if the darker background colors help to separate the actual content and make things easier to follow/read on the site... that is the goal.

Aselus : The way it is as in the colors I am trying now? The selectable themes will be coming along later.

Posy reply button still not fixed. I like it. It kinda take me by suprise. Its sure is easier on my eyes.

Empty your temp files then reload the page and you will see the newer button(s).

What title bar?

Fortran: Thanks! It is the same font used in the site title/logo graphic.

I like the color change, though subtle, is a bit less intense on my ojos during those long forum stents at 1:00 am.

I'm all for it GK

One of the contributing factors in me initially frequenting this forum for me was the clean, clear layout (too many forums are dark and harder to separate the content from the ads etc. as well as being hard to navigate/see what's going on)

The grey makes the content stand out nicely without hiding the advertisements

I like it so far, I am sure it is a work in progress, kinda has a lego effect going on when I look at it right no but I am sure that is just because you are doing little by little. I love the new menues for the links bar up top really helps to get around the site. Keep up the good work!!!!

Now it just seems there is to much baby blue everywhere?? Or is it just me? I am all for the color changes, especially at night time when I am in the dark.....MY EYES BURN!!

All I have to say is that the left side bar ads look weird now with the text being the colors that they are and the bars..and such...just the left bar going down the page looks awkward, but the main frame (and the new bar along the top of site navigation is nice & clear)

after reading that so many users browse this site at night ... and being myself one of them, it occured to me ..... why not have day/night themed website ....
(back in the days of pentium 2, i had a vaio that would have a changing wallpaper depending on the time of the day ..... 3 wallpapers total .... ) i am aware that there are probably conflicts on timezones but i know it cant be done so that the site color/theme adjusts automatically to each user's time zone ....
so far i can say i've never seen this in a website .... and what a better way to be unique right

for night time, i would definitely enjoy my browsing if the colors where dimmer
and for day time, contrast .... ( just as it is right now )

just an idea tho ...
