| We have many people looking around (Guests) all the time, also quite a few new people signing up everyday, and will not doubt have a lot more, very soon. I was wondering, where are you from? and how did you hear about us? I would love to hear your story, tell us about it. This also gives our noObs a chance to put their first post here as an icebreaker. (just hit "post reply") Last edited by GlitterKill; 02-December-07 at 05:16 PM.. | ||

| actually, i was bored and started surfing Directron.com, just Windows(tm) shopping, to "build" the smallest posible computer and saw a category called "computer mods" where i came across kits to do all sorts of things i had recently thought of doing (like LED swaps and windows) and a few i had never thought of and there was a link to my future home right o that page ![]() you've been stuck with me ever since... | ||

| I think I first came to this site in December 2001 or maybe January 2002. I was just looking at pics in the case mod gallery, and I think my first comment on a case was February 2002. My first post (as Anonymous) in the forums was a month or so later, in response to some guy's topic, "Lian Li's Overrated?" (which I totally agreed with). I'm not sure how I came by this site...I had already done several functional mods to my Charger case by that time and had never heard of case modding. I think I saw a few painted cases, including the immortal Quake 3 case of one of modding's originators, and I started thinking. I think I might've come here from a link off hardocp.com. Back then, if you did a search for "case galleries", there weren't many hits at all, and not many galleries were well-done. The one here allowed people to comment AND vote on peoples' cases (although the system was later badly abused by a few no-life lamers), and I thought that was a very unique idea. I loved the Comments section, seeing peoples' suggestions and flames made this site a lot more 'edgy' and opinionated than others, where the admin would just post every submitted case pic, and complimenting every one. What's the point of that?! I want the truth, not a "nice case, good job, great window!" even if my job was a POS. Here, people got the truth, alright...and it was sometimes too blunt for the n00bs, and a few ran away scared. I've never spent as much time helping out on a forum as I have, here. Other sites I frequent are just that: SITES. They're not a community, not like here anyway. DigitalDevil, Threat and me had such wonderful good times, back in the beginning when I first started posting...I remember Threat bragging how he was the master of flames or something...it was a trial by fire, for me, certainly...but I guess I burned a lot hotter than those guys did. *poof* All in all, it's been a great experience; I've learned a lot, I've come up with ideas I never would've thought of, probably as a direct result of insight gained from hanging out here with you guys (and the few token gals, only a couple of which actually show their presence)...we have an amazing level and range of skills here. Gotta love it! | ||

| I bought a Lian Li and was looking for ways to dress it up I asked on a forum where I could find out more about case modding. This site was recommended to come have a look for there were a lot of radical ideas to be seen in the galleries. That was some time in December 01. Mostlty I surfed the Galleries and maybe cruised the forums from time to time. I loved the galleries in it's infancy, it seems like a hilarious romp to me, kinda like the Gong Show! The comments had me rolling on the floor. Often times I was at work surfing the galleries and I would howel out loud, leaving my co-workers thinking I was stunned. Now a days I don't go to the galleries too often. I agree, the comments may be the truth and blunt, but often cases get ragged on just becuse it's trendy to have a particular opinion. Having to be a registered member has made the comments more inline and honest, but it has also removed the edge of anom comments which at times I found to enjoy the most. Maybe the crowd has matured in the comment content as well? I find the forums the most rewarding these days, just hanging or chilling with all the good Peeps here. It's fun as hell! *Edit, added* Oh, the front page and reviews section is great as well. Last edited by ViperZ; 12-September-02 at 04:56 PM.. | ||

| I kind of got on an information bender, and after sucking VH dry, I hit google for mods... I liked PR's gallery, checked it out for about a month or two before submitting my own rig... I like gettin' feedback on my rig, and I liked the REALLY weird sh*t that people think up on this site! Decided a couple months later to join the forums... 6 months later, here I am! | I think I learned about case modding and such when MaximumPX first showcased some rigs. I am not sure how I got from there to here, but I know that I spend a lot less money on computer rags these days because they are hopelessly out of date with what is happening in the industry and the case modding scene. PR forever ! ![]() | ||

| I was searching Lan parties and components to build my rig when I found a link to this site. I been here since. Sometimes a silent peep, usually posting when I need help. The regs help me out ALOT. If not directly, then through others' posts/threads. Love the forums integrated with the site again. Much easier and faster to navigate too. PR and [H] are the only 2 sites I frequent wit PR being like Cole says, more of a community. (Actually...it was the pr0n) ![]() | ||

| I was just looking for a site with a bunch of members that I could rile up real good with some inciting posts. Worked. I honestly am not positive how I came across this site. I joined formally the beginning of Feb, but lurked for a couple of months prior. I think it was a link off another site (possibly VH). | ||

| I was directed here from someone in Gamespy Arcade, I was going to buy an Alienware and do a window, CC, etc. After reading alot and checking out the forums, I realized that it probably wouldn't be that hard to build one from scratch, and I would be saving alot of "scratch" by doing it myself. Well, I did it, and did it again, and again and to this date I've built over 25 computers for people here in Vegas. I've modded something on almost all of them I'm starting another one of my own really soon, and I'm almost done with the one I'm doing now (I'm building it to replace my Dad's Compaq*cough*And I owe it all to PR and alot of ya'll! It's the yellow one in the picture below. I've added side and top 80mm Antec's with black grills and I'm gonna add a round, tinted window on the side to complete the yellow and black "theme". Hehe.....he's gonna love it! ![]() | ||

Good God, remember the "Chounga" cases? Some of the comments and links to crazy **** (like that pouf who had a Peter Pan fetish and the other pouf looking for an American girlfriend) were hilarious! I think I broke out baying laughter a time or two, myself! Damn, I think tomorrow I'm gonna have to go through the gallery from the start again and read all the comments! Memory lane sure can be fun... ![]() | |||||||||||||||||||||
