This is a worklog thread for the new site setup. The current status is that forumapex.com is now functioning as the main forum for PCApex.com. Tonight I will get the gallery running on ForumApex.com as well as the blog system. After that I will be rearranging the forums on ForumApex.com by grouping GameApex and PCApex forums together as well as setting up common forums shared between the two.

If you guys run into problems please document them here as detailed as you can. Right now, start with the forum layout and features. Specifically, if you find a page where the site layout appears to be broken, please post the address to the broken page, here. This latest forum layout code required some special tags which required me to add them one by one to all of the forum pages that used it. I MAY have overlooked some in the process. This will help me make sure they are all the same.

I already posted these two things in the GameApex and PCApex merge thread because this thread had no been created at that time so I am just copying and pasting it over here for you with a couple changes to make them more specific.

First one I noticed is that being logged in at PCA does not mean you are logged in to ForumApex. This means that people may have to log in twice to be able to post since all posts now seem to be on ForumApex. This is really just an annoyance more than anything, but it would be nice to be able to just log in to one of the three sites and have it such that you are logged in to all three now that they are all basically one site.

Second when posting the reply to the merge thread there was a very large black area at the top of the page and I had to scroll down to get to the posting area. I am not seeing this problem as I am posting this right now to the recode thread, so either it was something that you have already fixed or it just had to do with posting in that thread. If I notice the problem again I will modify this post to reflect that.

EDIT: found a third thing for you
After posting in this thread I clicked the "Forums" button in the top menu and it sent me to a page that gave me the "Invalid Forum specified" message. This is the page that it is sending me to http://www.forumapex.com/pc_apex/

I still can't log into my mail account, (news) Also my PM is not working.....

PCAPex home page, the "Recent Forum Discussions" section is not working.

Working on the cookie setting for the login issue now.

The email server is supposed to be setup and I am waiting on the email account info now to test it out.

The front page is being worked on by Vladimir right now.

The Game Apex forums have been added! Enjoy the new game-related discussions! Tomorrow I will see if I can export/import the threads from the old GameApex forum... I REALLY hope i get it the first go round. If I have any trouble, Vladimir can always do the import the old fashioned way.

The Gallery will be upgraded to the latest version of the script and I should have the GameApex.com site back online by tomorrow night as well.

Posted a thread, can't wait to see if this brings a little more traffic to GA threads. I can't see why not.

1) I noticed that I can't log into pcapex anymore... as it takes me to forumapex when I login. I suppose that isn't really a problem, but I got confused a bit. I can only log into forumapex at the forumapex home page. I tried posting a reply without being logged in and it took me to a page to log in (as usual) but when I put in my username and PW, it wouldn't log me in.

2) I cannot access gameapex at all. The green link at the top of the pages does nothing for me. However, I can access all of the forums... don't know if this is how it's supposed to be.

3) I tried editing a previous post in the Sig Shop and it would not save the post in quick edit mode. I had to 'Go Advanced' in order for the save to work.

I just noticed that posts in the wii section show up on the front page under the recent worklogs.

I need to update the front page to now show the new forums I created. I will have that fixed today.

Fixed the download section. It was throwing an error that the file was not found even though it was actually there.

Almost done with the new GameApex Forum theme to match the recoded PC Apex look.

Already created the logo for ForumApex. The color theme for the ForumApex theme (which you can choose to use throughout the forum if you want, instead of the PC Apex and Game Apex themes) will be mostly greys, with links and very small highlight in the theme being a royal purple. Think mostly greys and black though. This theme will also have an alternate version with a BLACK background to most of the theme. Those of you who have been clamoring for a dark theme will love it.

The email server was experiencing some snags during setup but is now setup and the email accounts should be operational VERY soon. Big thanks to the staff for being so patient with the transfer.

Everything should be totally finished up by this weekend. *crosses finger and prays to the PC gods* Tonya has to work this Sunday for Easter Brunch so I will use all that time to bust out the rest of the work to get things at 100%.

Couple of different things...

FireFox:

If you look at the attached image, I click on the User CP and the drop down list shows up to the lower right of where the link is.

Also, you'll notice in the image that I'm getting the box/arrow for all the images that are also links, too.

Internet Explorer:

Something is off on the spacing. If you look at the last two images, you'll notice the banner isn't lining up right. In the second image, the forum list starts at the bottom of the ad on the right hand side.

Anyone else seeing this?

I was also seeing the same problem with Internet Explorer.

I get this on the forum with both FireFox and IE7.

That is the PC Apex test style, it will go away if you use any of the other styles
