Default PC Apex Bugs & Worklog 2008

Here is the new bugs & worklog thread for PC Apex for 2008. If you run into any site problems please post as much info here about the issue as you can. It will help us to fix the problem for you ASAP!

Here's to another great year! I have some interesting things in the mix including a new community tool to allow chatting!

The ads may got down on the site during the say as I move the site(s) over to a new banner serving setup.

After some research it looks like I can bump up our server to a better model for the same price I am paying for this one.

Currently we have:
Dual 2GHz Xeon CPU
3GB ECC RAM
x2 73GB SCSI Drives

New server would have (same price!):
Dual 2.8GHz CPU
4GB ECC RAM
x2 73GB SCSI Drives

SO basically a free faster CPU and 1GB more of RAM. Expect a day of downtime around the beginning of next month when we move to this newer/faster server.

I just finished setting up some server-side tweaks on the site which should help with page load times; especially for frequent site users. As with all updates, please let me know if you run into any weirdness as a result.

Why does this look all wonky? I'm going to assume there is a new style on the bounds?

Yeah, sorry guys... everything should be back to normal real soon. I am working on a newer, streamlined forum index page. When i installed the mod it seemed to change some of my CSS setups.

OK, there is now a new, streamlined forum homepage for you guys. There is a simple index of all forums in the right column and the most recent thread activity is located in the main column. You can still access the old version of the forum index via the "View Full Forum List" link located at the top of the forum index list.

The forums themselves have gone through some minor rearranging to make things easier to see/find for new users.

Let me know what you guys think of this new forum home layout.

I will work on getting all the styles/colors back to normal today as well. That was an unforeseen bug of the new forum home implementation.

The pound sign seems to have taken a vacation. Typing it displays a question mark when the post is submitted...for example...

?99.99

Dollars and Euros work fine though.

The new forum layout is horrible. It took me about 20 minutes to realize what was going on when I click forums and there is no friggin' forum anywhere! It's all on the right.

A) I hate change

B) It confuses and disorientates my poor feeble mind.

Not that i mind the new layout but i do now like the way it was before the change so I tend to just click on the View Full Forum on the right to get the older layout.

Am I broken or does everyone else see the same Modding worklog for all 3 spots every time they hit the front page? Its a different log everytime...but the same one in all 3 spots. Seems a little redundant...almost feels broken

I have noticed the same thing recently but it now seems to be fixed, at least for me.

Possible forum issue.

http://www.forumapex.com/anything_go...post1062227686

I wrote a post with the beginning of an "less than IE7 conditional comment" (CSS - Conditional comments -- everything before the first greater-than sign) to make a point, and now the page is all weird.

I've noticed that some, perhaps most, systems are not that vigilant about filtering out HTML stuff that can explode on you.
