Default Boolean Searching Info

The PC Apex Forum Search (and Google site search for that matter) both now support boolean searches! For those not familiar with boolean searching, it allows you to greatly narrow your search so that you find the content you are looking for quicker and easier. Here is some info on boolean searches:

To look for one word and another word in your results:

cats AND dogs (can use and or +)

To look for either one word or another (or both):
cats OR dogs

To exclude a word from a search:
dogs NOT cats (can use not or -)

To search for a phrase use quotation marks (these words must appear next to each other in this sequence):

“black death”

To retrieve variations of a word (truncation):
econom* (Will find: economic, economics, economical, economist etc.)

To retrieve variations of a word by replacing one letter with a “wildcard”:

organi?ation (Will find: organisation (English), and organization (US))

To separate search commands into a logical sequence, use parentheses:
(dogs OR cats) AND pigeons

To search for both upper and lower case letters use lower case.

Example:
If I wanted to do a search for posts about htpc cases and exclude posts about tower cases this is the search I would perform:

+case +htpc -tower

***NOTE:
You do not need to use uppercase for the AND, OR and NOT commands. I used uppercase to highlight their use. I recommend that you use all lower case letters when doing a search.
