Damm Godfoot! Thats pretty impresive right there. Is that the Firestix memory? Also how does it affect preformance?

So what does "Sandra" have to say?

He he..I have created another FSB junkie, how does it feel to be the only one in the DDR 1200 club?

Well it wasn't completely stable as I just reached that tonight after reading a new AM2 BIOS guide and PiFast locked me up. Yes it is the Firestix.

Read above regarding Sandra, but I am sure I am not the ONLY person in the DDR 1200 club........ maybe the only one at PCApex though.

did you validate that, that would be sweet. niceto know, you got some nice memory.

On a side note:

Does everyone know that when in CPUz all you need to do is hit F7 for a validation file to save and the saved file has you CPU speed next to it. It saves to you CPU directory depending on where that may be. Pretty nice to know if youin that really really unstable mode.

Unfortunately I remembered just as I was shutting CPUz down so no, but I will be making an even further attempt tomorrow night. Thanks for the F7 tip though.

I'll have to keep in mind this stuff then come Christmas time. Hopefully by then prices will drop. Plus the color would look awesome with what I've got in mind.

Nice work godfootNice work Godfoot. I believe SuAsDu also broke DDR2 1200. I was up around DDR2 1150 but my mobo was really limiting me. Also mwith more vtolage to the mem you could tighten up those timings for better bandwidth. Right now its pretty loose.

I'll be giving the Firestix some "Man-volts" (C) in just a little while. I love this "kill proof" BIOS.

Godfoot - nice ram there. 1200 is such a nice round number

How much Man Volts did you give it to get 1200 @ Cas 5? How much can it do at Cas 4?

SAD

It only took 2.15v for the RAM to reach 1200 (CPU at 1.475). So far I have been unable to "successfully" use CAS 4 for a decent clock rate, but I am still quite new to the 64bit platform. I am learning much quicker now though since I found a bit of a guide on the new BIOS.
Unfortunately, the time constraints place on me by the review deadline are somewhat limiting my experimentation time, especially when combined with my work schedule lately. I have been working more OT than usual lately, but that is typical getting this close to the Christmas season. (retail sector)
Although it is a product I would feel comfortable recommending, I do not yet know the volt limit as to what she can take, especially since I am still on air cooling.... that will be changing before too long though.

I have "Heard" 2.3v is pretty safe for DDR-2 that is at the high end..and up to 2.5v for "Benching" and not daily use...but you are taking your chances above 2.3v.

I have been unsuccessful in getting it to stay booted with anything over 2.2v, I believe the mobo may need to be volt-modded for anything further but I will check other sources to verify.
I was successful though in pulling off 3.0GHz at 4-4-4-12 timings. Not Pi stable but enough for a CPU-Z Validation

Godfoot - Ahh.. i see.. you are running ddr2 on a AM2 setup. I thought you was doing this on Intel. My bad. What brand is "Melco"? I saw it in your CPUZ validation.

Necro - for my 4-4-4-10 @ 596Mhz, I was doing 2.65v on the DDR2. If I pushed it to 2.7v, i am pretty sure I can do 600Mhz. Depending on the ram, I see people pushing DDR1 type volts, which is crazy. I have heard of ram dieng around 2.8 ~ 2.9v. But some are pushing more then that.

SAD

I've never given my DDR2 more than 2.3v's as thats the most I've ever been able to use. On my DFI nF4 infinity I was able to get 4-4-4-10 @ 1.1GHz with 2.3v.
