| Ok guys I'm down to the last thread holding me hostage in Windoze... Bench programs. I found super pi, and it works, I still can't get terminal to stay open after the results, so I have to spam my print screen button, but lets see if we can't put our minds together and come up with a definative list of links for the linux bench addict! Who knows maybe we'll get a sticky out of it. Super Pi FTP: ftp://pi.super-computing.org/Linux/super_pi.tar.gz | ||

| Tell you what, I'm game for this too. I know you can run *some* benchmarks under Wine, but most of the 3D stuff won't even run, even under Cedega. I'll see which ones I can get to run, and I'll post results here. I have no idea how API layers would affect results, but there's one way to find out! | ||

| Something I just thought of, a lot of review sites use game timedemos to benchmark general graphics performance. I know for sure Doom 3, Quake 4, UT 2004, Quake 3, Descent 3, and RTCW all have native Linux ports. Maybe we could use those instead of 3DMark for Linux... we couldn't get into HWBOT with them, but it'd be a good way to throw scores around amongst ourselves. | ||

| Overclockix - A Custom Linux Live CD 08-21-05 An all new Overclockix iso hits the net today!! This one features prelinking, KDE 3.4.2, and many new tools. Build 3.79 is the first Overclockix iso ever with the boinc DC project, also now with apt-build and the beginnings of optimizing select packages for i686. This iso has the LTSP/wine folding service found in Overclockix LTSP_2.1, with many improvements thanks to co-developer Overdoze. Also included is my own Linux folding@home service, which you can try out as an alternate. I skipped on some of the more recent Knoppix builds due to bugs with Unionfs and broken captive-ntfs support, but I have been planning a limited edition DVD release based on Knoppix 4.0. Too other many new features and packages to list here, so try it today. And if you like it, please donate so I can continue to pour hours of work into this distributionl! | ||
