My main rig, Opty 146 currently running at 2.9Ghz because of the insane heat here right now...

Can anyone beat the 7500 mark, or even 8000?

The CMOS reset last night after it froze up, it had been running at 2150MHZ for days on end (I am using a stock "Copper Cored" AMD 3200+ cooler with a 80MM fan BTW)

I have been too busy to spend time in the Bios today, so I ran it as is with no tweaks.

2.2+GHZ is in this CPU, but I would need to put it in a board with higher CPU voltage than 1.7v (And some better cooling)

I have a Shuttle AN-35 Ultra/SP-97laying around, when I get my main rig back on line I will give it a go then and post both of them.

After a reboot and tweeking the memory to 215FSB at 2-3-3-8, my score jumped to 4288, a gain of 428 points!

I was running the Bios in my first test completely default other than setting CPU speed clicking on the 2000MHZ option.

It had completley default memory settings, wich probably means it was also running the memory with a divider, it would have detected my Kingston Hyper X PC2700 and set it for DDR333.

This is the same BH-5 that has been able to run over 270FSB at 2-2-2-7 in my 939 rig.

Oh and BTW... the ASUS A78NX-X board I am using is single channel only!

Judging by the results here, I don't think I will need to break out the big guns for rthe 7500K challenge.
I just retreived my data from the fragged up HD on my Semporn 3100+ gaming rig, so I can now do a format.

Bet that will be enough to do the trick...

Well, I got the Ol' SemPorn fired up, but was only able to reach 7K mark...

I dunno if there is much more I can tweak on this gaming rig, looks like I'll have to fire up the big gun!

I kinda figured you had a different vid card judging by our score...just out of curiuosity, I set the X-800 from the stock 475x450 to 550x550 and ran it again, it did not bump the score up as much as I would have thought, a gain of only 68 points!

18235

EDIT:

I did a reboot and bumped CPU speed to 2640MHZ, ran the test 2 times at 550x550 video clocks...and made an intresting observation:

A 656 Point gain by running the test a second time

I have noticed this very often in benchmark testing that the second run will often produce significantly better results., my first clue was how low my first score was compared to my earlier tests, despite a major bump in CPU speed

This can be especialy pronounced in web a based test, because it will run from a "Cache" during the second run would be my best guess.

Not all gains will be this dramatic on a second run, but I tell ya... I can smell this stuff from a mile away, enjoy your free bump in points

EDIT 2: Another observation, a 40MHZ bump in CPU clock speed appears to be worth around 300 Points, 18168 vs 18468, both tests were at 550x550 video card clocks, and both were done on the second run making it a "Apples to Apples" comparison.

Well I got my opty system running. Not up to it's max potential yet but things are moving along.

Opteron 146 @ stock 2ghz.
my madman geforce 6200le vid card.

I know I spent way over my budget on that one but I am honestly saving up for the 7900gt.
