Question 3dMark05 scores definately not right...

http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=1721671

What is up with this...I don't think my score is supposed to be that low?

I have nothing running too except norton on system tray and the 3dmark05 program itself...

what could possibly be wrong?

Thanks.

Could be overclocked a little to much. What do you get at stock speeds?

wow, yeah something isnt right. check your temps while your running it next time. could be oc'ed too much. try going back all stock on the cpu and video card. then see what you get. otherwise, i dont know what to tell you. good luck!

Take a look at your driver settings...you may have AA turned on or something, and it's being forced.

what kind of gpu cooling are you using.what are gpu temps immediately after testing?
Also 631 Mhz on the gpu is pretty high without a volt mod ,is it artifacting badly?
when I push mine past 610 they start to artifact .

Im using a Zalman VF700-cu and the idle temps are 38C and at load its around 48C. Currently Im getting zero artifacts..

arent the stck speeds for most 6600's 500/1000? at least thats what my old one was. Do you have a modded bios? Seems like its got to be the video card. I was reading online that the asus nf4 boards sometimes have a probem with the primary pci-e x16 slot. Maybe try it in the secondary slot? Also, since your processor is overclocked, what is your pci-e bus frequency set to?

The card m using right now is a BFG and my BIOS isn't modded. My card is on the primary pci-e x16 slot and I havent tried the secondary slot yet. I believe my pci-e bus is at 100 mhz? could that be the problem?

Nah, the speed of the bus wouldn't do it (all PCI-E boards are 100Mhz). If KZobel's suggestion doesn't fix it, you could always try a fresh re-format of Windows.

Thats a pretty wierd result, my 9800PRO got about 3100. Have you checked to see if you have Anti-Aliasing on? it would affect your result.

i know the thread is a bit old.... but did you try setting everything to origianl clock (cpu , ram , video card) & run 3dmark05 again?

if you're getting better score with all at stock speed then your problem is with the overclock (cpu or video card?)

if so then start overclocking your cpu fisrt & when you'll reach your top then go start overclocking your video card but take it easy this is not a rush small step a the time (it can take you a fiew days to get it right , to get the highest overclock & be software stable prime95 , benchmars etc..)

you should get between 3000-3400 in 3dmark05 at stock speed with a 6600 GT

mine (with only my cpu overclock at 2.2) & my 6600 GT at stock speed i'm getting 3287 pionts at 3dmark05

anyhow you must find out your problem by now?
if not then try what i just said everything at stock speed

keep us updated.
