| [hwbot] Ator - 26.250 - Opteron 146 @ 3178Mhz RAM 1:1 [/hwbot] Fixed my stability problem, and got some tighter timings down to boot. 4clks on the idle cycle O_O. Also, since I upgraded to A64 Tweaker v0.6 (from 0.5), I could adjust the DQS skew...that got me an extra 20Mhz out of the processor alone. I could have taken it higher, but I had to keep adjusting the DQS all over the place. One wrong setting, and it would BSOD half-way through the 1M run. | [hwbot] Ator - 26.109 - Opteron 146 @ 3201Mhz - RAM 1:1 [/hwbot] *sigh* I'm getting so close to Cpt Planets' time that I can taste 1st place... I BROKE 3200MHZ FOR A BENCHMARK! Should be a record here for AMD's... Last edited by Ator; 20-February-06 at 05:56 AM.. | ||

!!!!!!! Just when I thought I was catching up...*sigh*Right now Im trying to go 1:1 275~278x11 with tight timings. I have estabished that the fastest my chip will go is 3.02~3.05GHz. With the x10 multiplier I have to use a divider. My only hope is to tweak the hell out of my ram with the x11 multi. Excellent work Ator. I believe I have to get one of those Optys before I get fidgety and fry this 3700+. Im already pushing 1.60V to get 3.0GHz. You guys are doing it with way less voltage. Maybe a motherboard change would help me a little. I dont know. Till then, I be steady tweaking. Good luck on that 1st place run! I think the Capt may be sweating a little bit ![]() Last edited by $SOLID$ Necro; 23-November-06 at 11:40 AM..

| [hwbot] Kemosabe79 - 26.953 - A64 3700+ San Diego @ 3078MHz - RAM 1:1[/hwbot] I would like you to weclome me to the 26 second club! ![]() There must be something about setting the DQS Skew to 224, Ator...Thats the only setting that worked for me. That, combined with changing the Idle cycle limit to 4 clks, and the R/W Queue Bypass to 16x, were the only reason I was able to do it. Those settings combined shaved of .7 seconds! Thanks for the tips! ![]() Im not sure of the stepping...I let you know when I do my reinstall/system clean here in a couple of days. I was also running at 1.66V! Thats the minimum I could set it to stay the least bit stable. Id also like to add that the Crucial Ballistix PC3200 I just got fricken rox! | ||

| You should be able to do that with your TCCD. When I did my 29.9 second PI time I had 564MHz 2.5-3-3-7, though the rest of my settings weren't as tight as Kemosabe's. Though maybe different batch's of TCCD produce different results like different CPU stepping? I guess that would make sense. | ||

Ive taken it up to DDR600 2.5-4-4-10, but it scores MUCH better with the tighter timings. It takes alot of volts to do it...and it runs really hot. That speed was achieved with 3.2V. Right now, the cpu is holding me back. Anything over 280x11 isn't happening, and the ram, as good as it is, wont do 1:1 stable enough past a 300FSB. This counts out 1:1 @ 336~338x9, and 1:1 @ 300x10 isnt quite fast enough. This is as fast as she'll go. I still have to see how it stands up to punishment, but for $120 a gig at the Egg, Im not so worried about it. ![]() Last edited by Kemosabe79; 20-February-06 at 02:29 PM..

I think it's my memory controller to be honest. Running a DDR266 divider @ 3150 with 2.5-4-4-8 won't finish 1M! The RAM is at like 210Mhz at that divider too...I know my RAM isn't bad, I think it's my processor.

Thats a shame, I'll take that CPU of your hands if you don't want it? ![]()

Stepping of the chip is: KACAE 0546APCW. Good luck finding anyone else's results on that stepping...I sure cant. CPU-z says its a revision SH-E4...Have a look here. Either I have an good chip, or homeboy doesnt know how to clock. ![]() ![]()

| Yeah, can't say i've heard of it...i've seen KAB3E, which is an insane clocker, but yours...unknown. You're squeezing out almost 3100 from it...i'd say you're a good overclocker! A lot of people struggle to get 26's with wayyy better cooling than what we have. | ||

What is mod 1.5? is it approved? I thought that we should be using 1.4... BTW, my Intel scores better than an opty 1.65 overclocked - I am flattered ![]() Last edited by $SOLID$ Necro; 23-November-06 at 11:41 AM..

| Well, the Opteron 165 is the 1.8Ghz Dual Core, and he's only running 2.6Ghz. I bet some better RAM would make those times drop a lot. If I had known how to tweak my timings when I was using my X2 3800, I would have gotten under 30 @ 2.85Ghz. But at any rate, that's an impressive feat to do that. What did you run again? | ||
