Default 3Dmark2003se results... how do I get better?

Question: 2 rigs. One old(er) one new. Old comp gets much better scores (7500 compared to 6200). Can anyone give me an explination? Do I need to tweak something? I cannot believe that the old computer is scoring better! This is the first time I've run benchmark scores and this is very confusing.

OLD:
2.0ghz P4 Northwood Cor
2x256mb PC2100 DDR
MSI mATX motherboard
128mb DDR Radeon 8500LE
30gb Western Digital HDD

NEW:
3.0ghz P4 Northwood Core
2x512mb PC3200 DDR Geil
Soyo ATX Motherboard
256mb DDR Radeon 9200
160gb Samsung HDD

Any information would help. Thanks.

you mean 3dmark2001se cause those are about right...for 2001...2003 i doubt that a 8500/9200 would score anywhere NEAR 6,000pts

Yeah, back in the day the 8500 was a good card, it was designed to perform well in 3dmark01.

Try using 3dmark03, chances are the 9200 will outperform the 8500.
