CPU-Z submissions rules updated - online verification required

As part of our effort to streamline the rules and guidelines of all supported benchmark applications, and make the life of our result moderators less stressing, it is required as of today to supply a valid x86-secret link. The same username as your hwbot account has to be used, in order to prevent stealing links.
Any online CPU-Z submission as of 21 May 2008 must comply to the following rules:

• use recent CPU-Z version
• have a valid x86-secret link as verification, screenshots are no longer allowed since 19th May 2008. You can save your overclock and submit later if your benchrig is not connected to the internet.
• use the same nickname in the CPU-Z submission as your hwbot name

Temporary fix for vBulletin 3.7.x users

Since vBulletin 3.7.x, a new security feature has been added to fend of spambots. While this is great, it also keeps hwbot from editing posts.
We are working hard on a proper fix, but for those who can not wait, there is a way to solve it manually. You can enter the secret security token manually, something that until now only was necessary for InvisionPB users.
vbb 3.7.x howto:

1. switch your forum settings (temporarely) to ipb to be able to edit advanced settings
options > team > configure forum

2. go to your forum topic to find secret security token
forum ranking topic > edit post

(go advanced if necessary) > right click > view source

search for “securitytoken” > copy value


3. edit bot with security token
options > bots > my bots > configure
enter &securitytoken=

4. repeat 2&3 for each bot you want to update (you might want to skip the other bots and go to 5 if you want to be sure it works)
5. change forum settings back to vbb 3.6
options > team > configure forum


6. check
go to tab ’scanning’ and click “update ranking only”

click “saved the response here”, and check whether the ranking has updated. The date edited may be off.

We can not garantee this will work for everyone, but it has been tested and verified working on the hwbot.org forums which run on 3.7.1.
We are working hard to automate this process, this tutorial is for those who can not wait. Once it’s done, it will be available as “vbb 3.7? plugin.




Aquamark submission rules updated

As of today, aquamark03 submissions are required to have a valid screenshot which contains a screencapture of the aquamark result, cpu-z with processor tab (and preferrable memory tab too) and gpu-z (or rivatuner in case of gpu-z failure to dedect hardware properly) open.

Future aquamark submissions which do not include this information may be blocked without further notice. We’re sorry for the inconvenience but we can not moderate reported submissions properly if this vital information is missing.
